GMC Software Technology Adds Zero Defect Production Functionality to PrintNet Solutions Suite
Press release from the issuing company
September 12, 2006 – Boston, Massachusetts and Appenzell, Switzerland – GMC Software Technology, the New Standard in personalized customer communications, today announced that it has added a full range of zero defect production functionality to its PrintNet solutions suite. A fully automated, end-to-end document production system, PrintNet enables customers to deliver the highest quality documents, on schedule and error-free. The system continuously monitors the entire document production lifecycle process to ensure adherence to quality processes, guaranteeing 100% deliverability. If there are defects or missing documents, PrintNet automatically recreates and prints these documents in real time.
GMC PrintNet manages the entire document and production process — from data acquisition through design, composition, printing, finishing and delivery. The process is completely automated, maximizing production capabilities by queuing and routing jobs to appropriate printing and finishing resources — folding, inserting, binding, sorting — based on workloads and resource availability.
The software supports the full range of high-volume printers and print protocols, and seamlessly integrates with archiving systems and Web-based systems for multi-channel output communications and repurposing of information for a broad range of business and customer service applications.
PrintNet is built on an open architecture to support nearly any technology or business environment, as well as to ensure scalability to accommodate future growth. The system accepts an extensive range of input sources; is compatible with MS Windows, Mac OS X, Sun Solaris, Linux and other UNIX environments; and supports most printable data streams including PostScript, PDF, PCL, PPML, VPS, AFP, IPDS, IJPDS, VIPP and Metacode.
“We are pleased to be able to offer this additional level of functionality in our PrintNet offering,” stated Dr. René Müller, CEO of GMC Software Technology. “Total production automation offers many advantages for businesses, including consistent high quality results, faster turnaround, and more affordable processes.”
