Torrance, CA—August 28, 2006 – Xplor International, the worldwide electronic document systems association, today announced the debut of Xplor Document University at Digital Print World 2006, taking place October 17-19, 2006, at Earls Court, London in the U.K. The three-day program will provide four educational seminars on digital printing, designed to meet the needs of those migrating from graphic arts and traditional “ink on paper” printing to digital, as well as those who are already producing digital documents. Seminars are priced independently and early registration fee range from £ 25.00 (including VAT) for students, £ 55.00 (including VAT) for Xplor members and £ 85.00 (including VAT) for non-members. Online registration will be available the week of August 28, 2006 at www.xploruk.org.uk. Onsite registration, after October 6, 2006, is also available at a slightly higher cost.
“Early response has been very positive with approximately 230 pre-registered individuals having already expressed interest in attending the seminars,” said Steve Petch, Chairman of the Xplor UK & Ireland Region. “We fully expect to meet our attendance goals at Digital Print 2006 in addition to providing a robust education program for the participants.”
As an international component of the Xplor Document University, an ongoing program of technical, executive and professional development programs announced earlier this month, Xplor's seminar series at Digital Print World is designed to provide attendees and the electronic document industry at large with education tools needed to excel in today's professional environment. Seminar topics include 1-to-1 marketing and integrated communications; transition from lithography to digital print, the changing world of digital printing and intelligent document tracking.
In addition to its annual Global Conference and participation at Digital Print World 2006, Xplor Document University offers educational programs to provide the industry with year round educational opportunities including webinars, global networking tools, university memberships, educational programming, online training, virtual technology councils as well as chapter and regional content. Xplor's Document University will also feature major changes in format to the association's annual Global Conference, including simplification of the conference curricula that includes 22 individual courses targeted at executive and senior level management, recommenders, consultants, influencers, technical staff, implementers, operations and sales personnel. The courses will be segmented by topic and geared towards variable data and transactional, as well as commercial printers and creative professionals. The conference will take place February 28 through March 4, 2007 in conjunction with Graphics of the Americas at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
