Muller Martini, Colter & Peterson and MBO America to demonstrate complementing technologies at Graph Expo

Press release from the issuing company

Hauppauge, New York – MBO America, the premier provider of folding and mailing systems, along with Colter & Peterson, the market leader in sales and service of paper cutting systems, and Muller Martini, the global pacesetter in print finishing innovation, are inviting Graph Expo attendees to see the latest technologies from all three companies, all in one location at the show. Visitors to booth #1229 can view a comprehensive 15,000 square-foot representation of finishing technologies that can all perform together to enhance workflow speed, efficiency and overall capabilities for graphic arts businesses large and small. Common walkways within the booth will make it convenient for Graph Expo attendees to move from one area to the next. “Our flagship PERFECTION folders, fully automated with MBO’s RAPIDSET computerized make-ready system, will command our offering at Graph Expo,” said Dr. Peter A. Weiss, President and CEO of MBO America. “Graph Expo is a premier show, and the best venue to showcase the versatilities of our technologies in this unprecedented and significant cooperation of our three companies. It’s important that Graph Expo visitors are able to see that several manufacturers of postpress solutions have state-of-the-art machines that not only work extremely well in combination, but also can provide the productivity advantages of digital workflow.” In addition to PERFECTION folders, MBO will also display a diverse array of other equipment, including the U.S. debut of its workhorse B21 buckle folder now available with RAPIDSET foldrollers and buckle plates, an Ehret high speed sheeter, the Bograma die-cutting, punching and trimming machine and a Theisen & Bonitz collator with a stitch, fold and 3-side trimming unit. And as is the case with Muller Martini, and Colter & Peterson equipment, MBO machines are CIP4 and JDF compatible. Colter & Peterson will be displaying an all-new paper cutting system designed for one-person operation. The system consists of a Baumann BASA automatic jogging/feeding unit, a 45” Wohlenberg Pro Tec paper cutter and a Baumann automatic unloader. Colter & Peterson will also be highlighting its 45” Saber cutter and its 36” Prism cutters. “Our equipment and that of MBO America will be intermingled and demonstrated in one half of booth #1229,” said Bruce Peterson, President and CEO of Colter & Peterson. “Jobs will be jogged and cut on our equipment and folded and stacked on the MBO equipment. Afterwards these jobs will then be sent to Muller Martini for stitching and binding. This will allow us to utilize a cross section of equipment in the same booth to create finished products right on the show floor. Graph Expo will provide an excellent opportunity for the industry to see how three independent companies can complement one another, offering the latest technology, and that different pieces of equipment from different vendors can work perfectly together.” Among the equipment that Muller Martini will demonstrate at the Graph Expo show is the Pantera perfect binder, which will be making its U.S. industry debut. Also demonstrated will be the Presto saddle stitcher with Palamides automatic banding machine, the BravoPlus saddle stitcher with AMRYS (Automatic MakeReady System) with inside/outside inkjet capabilities, and, to show other capabilities through partner integration, a Valore saddle stitcher with trimmer/die-cut combination from Bograma. In addition, Muller Martini will be featuring a press unit from its Alprinta web offset press with the new continuously size variable cylinder technology. “Our print finishing equipment will show the newest developments specifically engineered to empower printers and binders with the innovative solutions they need to grow their sales and enhance their bottom lines,” said Werner Naegeli, President and CEO of Muller Martini Corp. “Technologies from Colter & Peterson and MBO America can complement Muller Martini machines seamlessly, enhancing profit opportunities even further for print production operations.” Graph Expo takes place October 15-18, 2006 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.
