Wynnton Express Printing Ramps up With Printmaster PM 52 Press and Suprasetter A52 Combo
Press release from the issuing company
KENNESAW, Ga. - October 23, 2007 - Wynnton Express Printing, Columbus, Ga., dba XPress Printing, recently took delivery of a Heidelberg Printmaster PM 52 4-color perfecting press with ink-setting console and a Suprasetter A52 thermal platesetter with MetaDimension RIP to handle the company's four-color and 1/1 and 2/2 perfecting work. The new machine replaces a 10-year-old 4-color Quickmaster 46 DI press. According to company president Mike Konze, there's been a learning curve as Xpress Printing transitions from direct imaging to computer-to-metal plate, with the result that the new press is "almost too fast" for the company's newly fledged metal platemaking capability - a short-term growing pain the company will soon overcome.
The general commercial printer also operates a pair of 2-color Quickmaster 46 presses and uses Heidelberg pressroom consumables. Xpress Printing's 10 full-time employees provide the local market in and around Columbus, Ga. with a variety of commercially printed products. The 31-year-old, family-run company has been a loyal Heidelberg customer for some time. "Everything about Heidelberg is first class," Konze says. "The sales reps are extremely knowledgeable about the technology and can talk intelligently without deferring to a demo specialist. We continue to be impressed with the depth and breadth of Heidelberg's expertise."
