Easy to Use CtP System Can Image All Violet Plates on the Market The SpeedSetter VM is a simple to use, easy to service and reliable system, and is compatible with all common 2-up portrait and landscape presses on the market. The SpeedSetter VM is capable of imaging all violet plates available on the market today, and the optional plate processor can process all the available photopolymer plates. The SpeedSetter VM is part of a complete turnkey CtP system, which includes the industry-leading OpenRIP Symphony Workflow with Adobe PostScript 3. The Village Printer – Boulder, CO The Village Printer, established in 1988 by owner David Robinson, has evolved from a “shopping center” quick print operation to a small commercial print operation serving local small businesses, non-profit organizations and other organizations such as the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, the Colorado Field & Ornithologist and more. Robinson bought his first piece of RIPit equipment 9 years ago – the RIPit Setter 2000. We are also particularly happy with the screens we are getting now. We switched to RIPit’s PerfectBLEND screening technology at the same time we made the switch to the VM system. The screens are a quantum leap in quality – we can now run up to 225 lines of screens on what are essentially duplicators. We receive large press quality with small presses; it is just great.” Robinson says that the company can now look to the future with the RIPit SpeedSetter VM system installed. “We can now look to buy a GTO-format printing press at some time in the future without disrupting prepress, which is a huge advantage to us.
