Oce Business Services to Showcase Records Management and Performance Management Solutions at ALA Conference

CHICAGO--April 25, 2006-- Oce, a global leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, today announced that certified records managers from Oce Business Services will offer educational sessions during ALA, the Association of Legal Administrators' 35th Annual Education Conference and Exposition in Montreal, Canada. The sessions will detail how the legal industry can increase efficiency and reduce costs with a best-practices records management function.

This session in the series explores the important aspects of records intake. Participants will learn:

* How to use bar-code and radio frequency identification technologies
* How to match the tool with your specific needs
Implementing Records: Retention
Tuesday, May 02, 2006 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM ET
This session in the series will focus on how to create a records retention policy. Participants will review the general statutory, ethical and multi-jurisdictional issues controlling records management, and then discuss the implications.
Implementing Records: Destruction of Records
Wednesday, May 03, 2006 10:45 AM - Noon ET
This session in the series will focus on managing records files that have become obsolete. Participants will learn:
* How and when to get rid of files
* What you need to know before you destroy records
* What to do if your firm is storing boxes with unknown content
* How to select an off-site storage vendor
In addition to the records management sessions, Oce will conduct two educational sessions on Oce MAX(TM), the company's innovative performance management application. The sessions will demonstrate ways the legal industry can leverage Oce MAX to address document and records management challenges that impact timeliness, accuracy, accessibility and compliance. The Oce MAX sessions will be held in room 522A of the Palais des congres de Montreal Conference Center on Monday, May 1, from 10:30 - 11:45 a.m. ET and again from 2:25 - 3:30 p.m. ET.
