Pittsburgh, PA, April 13, 2006 -- Steve Forbes of Forbes, Inc. opens the 54th Web Offset Association (WOA) Conference in Orlando, Florida, slated for May 21-24, 2006. Forbes will address issues of the nation as well as his intimate experience in the publishing world. Steve Levitt and Stephen Dubner, co-authors of Freakonomics, the New York Times chart-topping book, will add their unique, and sometimes controversial, slant to issues of the nation and our lives. Another headliner to the general session is the noted Hearst Newspaper former president and CEO, Bob Danzig. Danzig delivers a heartfelt message of opportunity, true leadership behavior as well as insights into our most valuable resource--people. The final day, led by Ron Wolff of Caliper Corporation, is devoted to issues of primary interest to printers--finding, training, and keeping employees.
The conference, Decision Points 2006, is rich in notables such as Jeffrey Jacobson of Kodak Graphic Communications Group, Anita Bizzotto of the USPS, Bruce A. Biegel of the Winterberry Group and many more. Rounding out the general sessions and numerous industry breakout sessions will be the recognition of the Harry V. Quadracci VISION Award to Thomas Quadracci of Quad/Graphics, Inc. For the first time, the 2006 H. Howard Flint, II Pressroom Manager of the Year will be recognized. The new recognition is in honor of an industry titan, H. Howard Flint, II who passed away in 2005.
Ralph Pontillo of Transcontinental Printing, Inc. and Chairman of the WOA Board of Directors announced two new benefits for attendees, "We are offering two focused tracks in the areas of Continuous Improvement and Business Integration. The tracks are ways to document attendance at a deeper, richer exposure to one topic....it is a way to add value for an individual."
With the new tracks, new recognition, print competition award winners, web press skills competition as well as the unique exposure to a stellar line up of industry topics and speakers, the 54th WOA conference is shaping up to be a hit with companies, sponsors, and suppliers.
