Glatfelter Announces Management Appointments at Specialty Papers Business Unit

YORK, Pa.--April 7, 2006 -- Glatfelter today announced management appointments at its Specialty Papers Business Unit, which includes two operating divisions: Printing & Carbonless Papers and Engineered & Converting Products. The appointments establish the leadership team that will support the integration of the carbonless and specialty papers business operations purchased from NewPage Corporation. These operations are based in Chillicothe and Fremont, Ohio.
Timothy R. Hess is appointed Vice President and General Manager of the Specialty Papers Business Unit. Mr. Hess will report directly to Dante C. Parrini, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He will have overall business unit responsibility, including integration management, strategic direction, operations, sales, marketing, and new product development for the combined operations in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, Neenah, Wisconsin, Chillicothe, and Fremont. Mr. Hess previously was Director of the Specialty Papers Business Unit. Since joining the company in 1994, he has held a variety of assignments in technical, operations, sales, and marketing management. Mr. Hess earned a B.S. degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and an M.S. from the Institute of Paper Science & Technology.
John R. Blind is appointed Division Vice President for Printing and Carbonless Papers, and will report to Mr. Hess. Mr. Blind will be responsible for operations, sales, marketing, and new product development at the Neenah, Chillicothe, and Fremont facilities. He previously was Director, Manufacturing for the Specialty Papers Business Unit. Since joining the company in 1982, Mr. Blind has held positions in technical, production, and operations management. He earned his B.S. degree from the Miami University of Ohio, and an M.S. from the Institute of Paper Chemistry.
Debabrata Mukherjee is appointed Division Vice President for Engineered and Converting Products, and also will report to Mr. Hess. Mr. Mukherjee will be responsible for the division's operations, sales, marketing, and new product development. Engineered and Converting Products will be primarily located at the Spring Grove facility. Mr. Mukherjee most recently served as Director, Engineered Products. He joined Glatfelter in 1998 and has held a variety of assignments in research, operations, and sales. Mr. Mukherjee earned a Bachelor of Technology degree from Indian Institute of Technology, M.S. and Ph.D degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an M.B.A. from York College of Pennsylvania.
