ON DEMAND Conference & Expo 2006 NEWTON, Mass.--April 5, 2006-- Questex Media Group, Inc. today announced the first Best of Show Awards program for the leading digital printing and automated production event. BERTL, the well-known independent research firm focused on digital imaging, will partner with the ON DEMAND Conference and Exposition to produce the awards program. The ON DEMAND Conference and Exposition will take place at the Philadelphia Convention Center from May 15-18, 2006.
The ON DEMAND Best of Show Awards will be judged in six general categories. One award will be presented in each category.
-- Bindery and Finishing Equipment: systems for booklet making, collating, binding, cutting, folding, inserting and mailing.
-- Content and Document Management: software and systems for content creation and delivery, on demand content, data management, document and content management, records management, intelligent capture, and variable data.
-- Design Prepress: devices, software and systems for computer to plate, desktop publishing, digital prepress, graphic design, digital collateral optimization, imaging, and publishing.
-- Digital Publishing: solutions for digital warehousing and delivery, JDF, on demand publishing solutions, catalogs, and transactions.
-- Print Production Workflow Systems: system, software, and services for catalogs, color management, customer job submission, data conversion, database management, estimating and scheduling, hybrid offset/digital workflow, MIS/ERP, preflighting, prepress, variable data, workflow, and XML tools.
-- Printing Equipment: monochrome and color printers and copiers, desktop imaging systems, digital front ends and raster image processors, direct to press systems, offset presses, production inkjet presses, proofing systems, spot color systems, wide format and super wide format systems.
To be eligible, products must have been introduced after June 1, 2005, and must be generally available at the time of the 2006 ON DEMAND Conference and Exposition. Exhibiting companies may enter two products.
BERTL's Dave Sweetnam, VP Research and Content Development, Karl Rudisill, Director, Digital Production Division, and Rich McAllister, Solutions and Market Analyst, will act as award judges. BERTL will chose product finalists from among all entries received prior to the ON DEMAND Conference and Exposition and will schedule appointments to visit finalists in their booths on Monday, May 15, and Tuesday, May 16, to see the products in action.
