Boston Print Buyers to Produce Dynamic Conference for Graphic Arts Professionals
Press release from the issuing company
April 4, 2006, Chestnut Hill, MA -- Boston Printer Buyers (BPB), the leading independent professional organization for print buyers and graphic arts professionals, has announced that its first-ever Boston Print Buyers Conference will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2006, at the Westford Regency Inn & Conference Center in Westford, Massachusetts.
The full-day conference will offer everyone involved in the graphic arts -- corporate, organizational, and agency print buyers; graphic designers; educators; paper specialists; marketing executives; printing firms; direct mail houses; and others – an opportunity to learn about current (and upcoming) industry trends and to celebrate the graphic arts profession together. This event will marry industry information with a festive celebration.
First Annual Conference
True to Boston Print Buyers' reputation for combining professionalism, education, and fun, BPB plans on making this conference the region’s graphic arts event of the year. The Boston Print Buyers Conference will offer educational sessions throughout the entire day, focusing on topics that matter most to today's print customers. Scheduled program topics include the future of print, how to create great files for printers, the ins and outs of “perfect” PDFs, and what’s happening with the paper industry. This first annual conference will give attendees nothing less than the most up-to-date information available on today's printing trends.
Frank Romano to Deliver Keynote
The inaugural Boston Print Buyers Conference will offer attendees the unprecedented opportunity to hear directly from top experts in the graphic arts field.
"I'm thrilled to announce that Frank Romano, the undisputed "king" of printing, will be the keynote speaker and will share his expertise during a special luncheon," says Margie Dana, Boston Print Buyers' founder. "He spoke to our group last fall - and they're still talking about how great he was."
Considered the international leading expert in digital print technology, Frank J. Romano has been involved in all aspects of the printing and publishing industries for over 40 years and has written
over 42 books. Many know him best as the editor of International Paper's Pocket Pal, or have read one of the hundreds of articles he has written for publications throughout the world. He is Professor Emeritus of the School of Print Media at Rochester Institute of Technology.
In addition to Romano, BPB’s Conference will present several other internationally known speakers and notable experts in the industry, who will share their knowledge with attendees.
Not only will attendees learn about cutting-edge topics from industry experts, but they will also hear from print buyers themselves. A buyer panel will enlighten print customers and printers alike, and other sessions led by buyers are being planned as well.
Full-Day Exhibition Program Shines a Light on Service Providers Exhibitors will be an integral part of the event. The exhibit hall will be filled with more than 25 companies and service providers that
help meet the needs of print buyers with printing and auxiliary services.
Printing suppliers and manufacturers from all areas of the industry are invited to participate in the exhibition program, which will be open throughout the Conference. Several special events will take place in the exhibit hall itself, making it the ‘place to be and be seen’ throughout the entire day.
Additional opportunities are available to sponsor other conference festivities. For more information on exhibiting and on event sponsorship, contact Margie Dana directly at 617-730-5951.
Gala Reception to Celebrate Printing
The Boston Print Buyers Conference will conclude with a celebration of printing at the Gala Reception to be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Following a day's worth of learning from the best, all attendees, exhibitors, and speakers are invited to relax at a party, complete with delicious food, a live jazz ensemble, and industry colleagues.
