Creo PODS and Press-sense Present Robust, Fully-Automated VDP Capabilities Online at IPEX 2006
Press release from the issuing company
Herzlia, Israel (March 30, 2006) - Creo Print On-Demand Solutions (PODS) Group announces the integration of its Web Composition Solution with the PRESS-SENSE IWAY PRIME solution to provide print buyers with online access to automated variable data production.
The new Web Composition Solution (WCS) is a robust and fully automated variable data printing application used to create highly personalised targeted marketing campaigns and other custom-printed documents. Easily integrated with IWAY PRIME, WCS allows print providers and buyers to use design-rich, logic-based templates for variable data and version printing. With templates hosted on the Internet or intranet, employees or customers can produce highly complex customised documents instantly while maintaining design integrity.
WCS integration with IWAY PRIME provides a complete, web-based, end-to-end, print-on-demand workflow and management solution. Designed for multi-directional growth to accommodate a broad spectrum of business models and customer requirements, the system offers different starting points and new growth directions to match specific business needs. IWAY PRIME’s flexibility allows users to respond to changing market conditions and leverage new business opportunities.
Now with WCS from Creo PODS integrated into the IWAY PRIME solution, print providers’ customers can compose, order, and request quotes online for highly complex, automated variable data printing. Print buyers can upload files, proof and approve jobs, and archive jobs and images. This powerful integration uses predefined templates designed with the DARWIN VI authoring tool to create complex variable data production (VDP) print jobs based on the DARWIN tool's rules-based logic. Advanced VDP capabilities are provided through the DARWIN tool VDP capabilities, which fully support ADOBE INDESIGN design functionality. The composed pages can be proofed on-line and when approved, a production-ready file is created and can be submitted for print, stored or sent to another location.
“This powerful integration with IWAY PRIME provides a complete VDP solution to printers,” said Gershon Alon, Director, On-Demand Applications, Creo Print On-Demand Solutions Group. “Print buyers can generate large-scale, complex, highly customised VDP jobs automatically and efficiently using this integrated solution.”
“The print buyers of Press-sense customers will now be able to create their dynamic publishing campaigns quickly and easily with CREO PODS WCS through the IWAY PRIME workflow,” said Elly Perets, Vice President, Sales, Press-sense. “This new module combines a most powerful web-based workflow with a robust, VI composition engine to create a seamless VI workflow.”
