Results of Production Benchmarking Study To Be Presented at NAPL - PIA/GATF Sheetfed Conference
Press release from the issuing company
PARAMUS, N.J., MARCH 20, 2006 – A special presentation on the results of a landmark sheetfed production benchmarking study being completed this spring by PIA/GATF will be among the many highlights of The 14th Annual NAPL - PIA/GATF Sheetfed Conference, scheduled for June 11-13, 2006, at the Marriott O’Hare Hotel in Chicago. The study will report on how 40 sheetfed printers performed in the production of the same multi-color, two-sided print piece.
By providing production statistics on every step of the job (including preflighting, platemaking, wash-up, makeready, etc.), the study will enable printers to compare their organizations’ production efficiencies with a representative sample of the industry. PIA/GATF anticipates that the study will provide observations on how efficiencies are affected by workflow systems, crew size, screening type, and press automation. In addition, the top performing companies from the study will be on hand at the Sheetfed Conference to explain to attendees the technical and organizational approaches that have helped maximize their efficiencies.
The 2006 NAPL - PIA/GATF Sheetfed Conference covers the full range of technical, operational, human resources, and management issues facing today’s sheetfed printers, providing value for a wide range of sheetfed company personnel and executives, including pressroom supervisors, operations and production managers and lead operators, as well as company CEOs and presidents.
In a new feature this year, participants will be able to customize their Conference experience by choosing among four function-specific tracks:
- Production. Nuts-and-bolts information on improving sheetfed pressroom processes form start to finish.
- Operations. A “big picture” look at leveraging equipment and technology, increasing capacity, and other strategic operations issues.
- Supervisory Excellence: How to equip your employees with the tools and the confidence that will enhance job satisfaction and help them achieve your company’s objectives.
- Leadership: An exploration of the critical leadership skills and strategies that will help move your organization forward in today’s challenging business environment.
Each track includes targeted sessions and interactive roundtable discussions, where colleagues can address the specific issues they’re facing and share their insights with the entire conference.
Conference fee is $595 for NAPL and PIA/GATF members, and $695 for non-members. Companies can maximize the benefits of the Conference by registering a number of employees from different areas to take advantage of multiple-registrant discounts.
