X-Rite and Gimle announce inclusion of COLORPORT with the ABSOLUTE PROOF product line
Press release from the issuing company
Grandville, MI – March 8, 2006: X-Rite, Incorporated a leading provider of color measurement solutions and Gimlé, developers of AbsoluteProof digital inkjet proofing software, today announce the inclusion of X-Rite ColorPort with the AbsoluteProof software.
ColorPort was built to expand the capabilities of color workflows and offer designers, graphic artists, and prepress users an easy to use tool for creating and measuring color charts. ColorPort works seamlessly with X-Rite’s premier ICC profiling solution – MonacoPROFILER – and extends its range of capabilities by allowing greater flexibility in target formatting and support for additional measurement devices. ColorPort also exports data into a variety of formats allowing users to take full advantage of their color measurement data.
“X-Rite is excited about the opportunity to work with Gimlé and extend the functionality of AbsoluteProof. This product’s flexibility to handle color simulation in a true n-color workflow make it a great fit for the flexible color chart generation and measurement capabilities of ColorPort,” said Marc Levine, worldwide product manager for X-Rite’s premedia imaging products.
AbsoluteProof is designed to deal with the most challenging issues in the packaging sectors and was the first digital inkjet proofing system to offer true support for HiFi color workflows such as Hexachrome via the advanced Intelligent MultiColor Engine.
The AbsoluteProof product line includes the most affordable Halftone proofing system available and the Extrachrome wide gamut proofing system designed to deliver matching of over 90% of the Pantone colors. The core technology of the system is the Intelligent MultiColor Engine.
AbsoluteProof technology integrates easily into existing packaging workflows and allows printers to proof difficult color jobs. Absoluteproof’s cost savings over traditional analog proofs can be well over 60% when taking into account turnaround time, materials, and labor. When you consider that remote proofing and Halftone proofing capabilities are included in the application’s base price, the system becomes a feasible investment for most companies
“The inclusion of Colorport enables us to provide full support for the latest devices from X-Rite such as the DTP20 (Pulse) and the DTP 70. Colorport also provides support for HiFi/multi-color workflows as well as our Extrachrome system. It enhances AbsoluteProof’s ability to communicate with ease with most color measuring devices available. It gives us a great pleasure to team up with X-Rite and offer our clients added flexibility by including Colorport with AbsoluteProof.” said Hugo Kristinsson, CEO of Gimle.
