FUJIFILM Color Management Technology at drupa

Press release from the issuing company

VALHALLA, N.Y. (February 14, 2008) – FUJIFILM Corporation will introduce the latest version of its award-winning color management technology at drupa 2008, the world’s largest printing show, on May 29th – June 11th in Dusseldorf, Germany.

FUJIFILM will introduce C-fit, an intelligent image optimization tool, that adds further value to the services printers offer their customers. FUJIFILM’s Image Intelligence technologies, including C-fit, automate the process of analyzing and improving RGB images that arrive from various sources. C-fit incorporates a number of FUJIFILM image processing algorithms, including face recognition and skin smoothing, light source recognition, exposure and white balance adjustment, and sharpness enhancement, to create an RGB digital master.

This new technology provides a method for controlling and standardizing color images and automates the process of improving digital images, reducing much of the need for slow and costly manual editing methods. As a result, FUJIFILM’s C-fit provides improved quality control as well as significant cost savings.

C-fit’s color appearance matching technology maps the color gamut of the RGB digital master to the maximum gamut potential of the profiled target device. It also allows users to convert RGB files to CMYK without changing or losing the feel of RGB images to ensure the best possible color conversion from original to printed image. C-fit is also very easy to use, utilizing a hot folder-based workflow with drag and drop operation. This new module gives printers the opportunity to offer improved and enhanced services to their existing customers as well as the ability to offer a unique service to attract new business.
