Agfa Graphics Brings Integrated Digital Proofing Solutions to Ipex
Press release from the issuing company
London, UK – 22 February 2006 – Agfa Graphics announced today that it will present its new solutions approach for integrated digital proofing at Ipex (Birmingham, UK, 4-11 April 2006). Today's user workflows may include any combination of soft or hard-copy proofs, remote proofing, content or contract approvals and even halftone proofs. Thanks to the integration of modules of :ApogeeX production software, :Delano project management and :SherpaProof proofing, a solution can be configured to meet the exact requirements of any operation.
:SherpaProof brings Agfa's digital proofing expertise to today's digital and software-based workflows.
In-house or Remote – Hard-copy Proofing with :SherpaProof.
For all content or contract colour hard-copy proofing, :SherpaProof combines inks, proofing media and colour software integrated in :ApogeeX. Remote proofing happens through full integration with the prepress production workflow and the :ApogeeX SherpaRemote option. The :SherpaDot option will be shown at Ipex for dot-for-dot applications.
:SherpaProof hard-copy proofing uses the new Epson engines with K3 inks.
Softproofing with :Delano.
:Delano 2.6 WebApproval, also new at Ipex, can put high-performance softproofing in the browser of every in-house or remote user. Users can proofread, mark-up and approve high-resolution production files. For remote hard copies WebApproval offers seamless integration into the :ApogeeX prepress production software and :ApogeeX SherpaRemote.
"Digital proofing is a part of everybody's workflow now," said marketing manager proofing and screening, Paul Adriaensen. "Our customers all want dependable consistency, but while some users or applications will never give up the hard-copy contract proof, others are keen to push the boundaries of softproofing. The integration of :SherpaProof with :ApogeeX and :Delano lets them do this. We can configure :SherpaProof digital proofing to meet their requirements, with local and remote, hard-copy and softproofing, content or contract colour, accurate proofing of spot and Pantone colours, double-sided proofs, and any combination thereof. All fully integrated in their workflow. And it all builds on Agfa's years of expertise of colour management, proofing and imaging."
