Ann Arbor, Michigan – February 9, 2006 – Xitron, the prepress industry's leading independent developer and integrator of Raster Image Processors, RIP management software and workflow solutions; today announced a new “help” column for Harlequin RIP users entitled Tips & Tricks for the Harlequin RIP available via a link from the Xitron website at www.xitron.com.
Tips & Tricks was conceived by Xitron as another means of assisting end-users in getting the most out of their RIP investment. Realizing that the articles would benefit not only Navigator (Xitron’s branded Harlequin RIP) users, but also users of other Harlequin-based RIPS, the column will be posted on the company website open to everyone.
Written by Xitron’s Eric Nelsen, Product Manager for Navigator Solutions and Kern Kuipers, Test Engineering Manager, the monthly column will feature helpful advice based on real world support issues with which Xitron assists customers daily. The first column is entitled Moving Away From AppleTalk and helps users transition from AppleTalk to a better means of communication between their prepress workstations and their Harlequin RIP.
"We have shipped more than 13,000 RIPs to customers world-wide," explains R. Patrick French, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Xitron. "Our goal is to make sure those users get the most from their investment and this new column is just one more way Xitron can provide an even better level of support to our dealers, distributors and end-user customers worldwide.”
In addition to the online column at the Xitron website, readers may also request and download a PDF that includes detailed step-by-step procedures outlined in the online column. Every month as new columns are made available, readers who have requested updates will be emailed a link to the latest column.
“In a 2005 survey of dealers, distributors, end-users and industry partners, Xitron support received very high marks. Providing educational materials such as this column is a continuation of our commitment to provide the highest level of support possible to the industry,” stated Bret A. Farrah, Vice President, Support Services for Xitron.
Xitron products are available through a network of OEMS, Distributors, Dealers, and System Integrators worldwide.
