Inspirational Speaker To Headline NEHS Conference

Press release from the issuing company

Sewickley, PA—Kevin Bailey, who nearly lost his life in a work-related accident, will share his inspirational message on safety at the 11th annual National Environmental, Health and Safety (NEHS) Conference for the Graphic Communications Industries. The event will be held March 27–29 in Indianapolis, Indiana. While working on a farm at the age of 18, Bailey suffered the traumatic amputation of his right leg after becoming entangled in a rotating shaft. He is now the owner of S.A.F.E. (Safety Awareness For Everyone), a company he formed to help organizations and individuals avoid becoming complacent to safety hazards in the workplace. His keynote presentation will provide attendees with ideas on how to motivate employees to think about and be responsible for their own safety. Jeff Denny, an enforcement agent for the U.S. EPA, will also be a featured speaker. Denny will explain how and why the agency undertakes criminal investigations. In all, over 30 topics will be addressed at the conference, including how to negotiate an air permit, reduce losses due to injuries and illnesses, control stormwater contamination, reduce energy usage, and fill out OSHA forms. Attendees can pick from sessions tailored to specific printing processes, and others designed for all printers. The NEHS Conference is the only national event designed to meet the needs of those responsible for environmental, health and safety compliance, regardless of printing process. Attendees will hear printer case studies and regulatory updates, and attend optional, low-cost, certification-level training. A free orientation session will help those new to managing EHS affairs understand the core issues and their job responsibilities. Attendees will also have access to the Conference Resource Center to learn about the latest developments in environmental and safety-related products and services. Representatives from numerous companies will be present to discuss their solutions to the issues commonly faced by printing companies—from pollution control and low-VOC chemistry to safety products and recycling technology. PAT Technology Systems is the conference’s Gold Sponsor. The NEHS Conference is a combined effort of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA), Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF), Flexographic Technical Association (FTA), Gravure Association of America (GAA), and the National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers (NAPIM).
