Doctor Ronnie Davis recognized by PRIMIR for Industry Contributions

The Print Industries Market Information and Research Organization (PRIMIR) recently presented the Neil Richards Visionary Leadership Award to Dr. Ronnie Davis, Chief Economist for PIA/GATF. The award is intended to recognize a leader in the graphic arts industry who has: actively participated in and supported numerous national/international graphic arts industry associations contributed to the growth and development of industry colleagues as a mentor or role model fostered honesty and integrity in his/her approach been broadly known and respected or nationally recognized willingly and aggressively shared his/her knowledge with associates aggressively promoted new, innovative or futuristic thinking exhibited a focus on the practical application of market information Davis was recognized for his contributions to the printing industry in the areas of market research, visionary thinking, and mentoring. According to PRIMIR Managing Director Jackie Bland, “Ron was an obvious candidate to receive this award, and the recognition was long overdue. The market research community in our industry has enjoyed a long, rewarding relationship with him.” Dr. Davis’s nomination submission cited his work in preparing the Printing 2000 project, stating that not only did he have to translate a big idea into a workable research project, he also had to raise funds to pay for the project itself. According to the nomination, “Printing 2000 went on to be a smash success and a very useful blueprint for the future of the printing industry. Neil Richards himself was part of that Task Force. It is also in small things that Ronnie makes great contributions to the industry. He has focused most of his work on helping small businesses survive through management tools like the Ratio Study, through market research like the Print Atlas, and through economic research like the Print Market Flash Report, which provide insights to see where the industry is going and to help printers prepare for it.” The Print Industries Market Information and Research Organization (PRIMIR), provides in-depth research and analysis for the graphic communications industry.
