Pitney Bowes Elects Executive Officers

STAMFORD, Conn., Dec. 16 -- The Board of Directors of Pitney Bowes Inc. announced that it has elected: Leslie Abi-Karam to the office of Executive Vice President and President, Document Messaging Technologies (DMT); Lisa DeBois to the office of Executive Vice President and President Pitney Bowes Global Financial Services (GFS); Vincent DePalma to the office of Executive Vice President and President, Pitney Bowes Management Services (PBMS); Patrick Keddy to the office of Executive Vice President, Pitney Bowes International; Neil Metviner, Executive Vice President, and President Pitney Bowes Direct; Michael Monahan, Executive Vice President, and President, Global Mailing Solutions and Services; and, Kevin Weiss, Executive Vice President, and President, Mailstream, The Americas for Global Mailing Systems. All seven will report to Murray Martin, President and Chief Operating Officer. These appointments support the company's evolution for growth according to Mr. Martin, "All seven of these individuals lead businesses that are vital to achieving our growth strategies. Collectively they will help shape our participation throughout the global mailstream and deliver enhanced customer and shareholder value." Ms. Abi-Karam has headed DMT Since 2002, during which time the company's hardware business has assumed global market leadership and its software portfolio has grown with the successful integration of Group 1 Software. Under her leadership DMT has doubled its revenues and tripled EBIT. She joined Pitney Bowes 20 years ago as an Engineer and has held a variety of senior management positions in several of our businesses. Ms. Abi-Karam holds a MBA from the University of Bridgeport and an Engineering degree from Northeastern University. In 2004, she received the Alumni Award from the Engineering School of Northeastern University and now serves on their Board of Trustees. Ms. DeBois was appointed head of GFS at its inception earlier this year. GFS provides lease financing for Pitney Bowes equipment and after market financing for postage and supplies. This translates into over one million unique customer accounts, a $4.0B portfolio, and over $400 million in customer deposits. Prior to this role, Ms. DeBois was President of Global Payment Solutions which she led to double-digit revenue and EBIT growth during the past four years. Ms. DeBois has more than 25 years of experience in consumer and small business marketing in the banking industry, including serving as Senior Vice President of Consumer Credit Product Management at First Fidelity Bank and in a variety of positions during her nine-year tenure at Citicorp including Vice President and Marketing Director. She earned an MBA from Fordham University and a BA in American Government from Georgetown University. Mr. DePalma was appointed President of PBMS in June 2005. In this role he is leading the execution of the PBMS strategy to deliver enhanced value, improve profitability, leverage its existing footprint in certain vertical industries, and provide PBMS customers with more of the company's comprehensive portfolio of solutions. Mr. DePalma joined the company from Automatic Data Processing (ADP) where he was most recently President of ADP Benefit Services as well as a Corporate Officer. Prior to joining ADP, he was Vice President and General Manager of Petroleum Heat and Power Company, and he spent twelve years at McKinsey & Company leading consulting projects for Fortune 500 companies and co-leading McKinsey's Innovation Center of Competence. He received his BS in Chemical Engineering from Lafayette College and his MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Keddy was appointed President, Pitney Bowes International in January 2005 and has responsibility for all Pitney Bowes lines of business in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific Regions. This appointment, added PBMS International and Asia Pacific Region to the responsibilities that he had held for the previous 6 years. He was named President of Pitney Bowes Mailing Systems in Europe, Africa and Middle East in September 1998. During his time in this position, the business grew three-fold to become a significant part of Pitney Bowes global operations. Prior to joining Pitney Bowes in 1989, Mr. Keddy worked for 13 years with British Gas, where he held sales, marketing and operations positions of increasing responsibility. He holds a BS from Aston University, where he studied marketing, economics, accounting and law. Mr. Metviner was appointed President of Pitney Bowes Direct in 2000. He currently has accountability for the company's growing global small business customer base, global supplies operations, all U.S. telephone-based customer care functions, and the U.S. web services organization. During his tenure, both the small business and supplies operations achieved strong and sustained growth, positioning them among the company's growth engines. Before joining Pitney Bowes, Mr. Metviner was a Senior Vice President with Cendant Corporation (formerly CUC International) where he led its Sales and Account Management unit and later its Protection Products Group. He also spent 12 years in a variety of senior executive positions with National Westminster Bank. He received both his MBA and BA degrees from Case Western Reserve University. Mr. Monahan has been President, Global Mailing Solutions and Services since 2002. He helps drive and execute worldwide product line strategy and management for the company's core mailing businesses, and has overseen its entry into the U.S. domestic and international mail services markets, and into marketing services. The company now leads the growing markets for mail services that help optimize delivery and minimize cost, and its mail services businesses have doubled each year. He is also responsible for U.S. Postal Service and global carrier relations. Mr. Monahan joined Pitney Bowes in 1988 as Manager of Corporate Accounting. Prior to joining Pitney Bowes, he was a Senior Auditor with Price Waterhouse. He is Chairman of the Board of the Urban League of Southwestern Connecticut and a member of the Board of the Sherman Higher Education Fund. Mr. Monahan is a Certified Public Accountant who holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from the State University of New York at Albany. Mr. Weiss was appointed President, Mailstream, The Americas for Global Mailing Systems in 2004. In this role he is responsible for the company's mailing operations in the United States, Central America, South America, and Canada including distribution, supply chain management, service, and operations. Since that time he has doubled the organizations growth rate, expanded its distribution capabilities through partnership, owned and indirect dealer organizations, integrated Danka into the Canadian operation, and built the company's Multi Vendor Services business. Mr. Weiss sits on the board of Oral Health America, a national organization dedicated to improving oral health through educational and service programs, and is a member of The Business Council of Fairfield County. He has been a guest instructor at the Wharton School of Business. Mr. Weiss studied at Miami University and at the University of Cincinnati and completed executive studies programs at both Harvard University and Babson College.
