Press release from the issuing company
LIVONIA, Mich., Nov. 22 -- Valassis, the leading company in marketing services and Connective Media, announced today that it has been recognized by Selling Power magazine as one of the "Top 50 Best Companies to Sell For" among companies with the largest sales forces in the United States.
The best 25 manufacturing companies to sell for and the best 25 service companies to sell for comprise Selling Power's "Top 50" list. The honorees encompass a broad range of industries, from financial services, health care and hospitality to communications, software and systems. Selling Power judged companies against a range of criteria, including product knowledge and selling skills training opportunities. Career mobility factors such as the frequency of performance reviews, turnover and promotions were also taken into consideration. Among the top service companies, Valassis ranked 13th overall.
"We are honored by Selling Power for selecting Valassis as one of the 'Top 50 Best Companies to Sell For,'" said Richard Herpich, Valassis' Executive Vice President of U.S. Sales. "Our organization has embraced consultative selling and collaboration in order to bring solutions to our customers that drive business results. The integrated solutions we develop have allowed us to expand our customer base to include 91 of Advertising Age's list of the 100 Leading National Advertisers. The new sales process we created in the last few years has been rewarding, challenging and stimulating for our entire sales organization."
This month, Valassis subsidiary Promotion Watch, Inc. also received the prestigious "Brand Guardian" Award at the McDonald's U.S. Supply Chain - Key Supplier Summit. The award is provided to a company or individual whose actions work to maintain McDonald's brand integrity and protect the brand from issues that could pose a threat. Promotion Watch has provided sweepstakes security-related services to McDonald's for their chance promotions since August 2001.
In addition, Valassis has been recognized by FORTUNE magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list for eight consecutive years and is a member of the magazine's "Hall of Fame." In August 2005, Valassis was named a "Cool Place to Work" by Crain's Detroit Business and in October 2005 the Michigan Business & Professional Association (MBPA) honored Valassis as one of "Metropolitan Detroit's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For" for the third time.
