HP Launches “Color Control Freak” Seminar to Provide Designers with Creative Perspectives on Digital Color
Press release from the issuing company
PALO ALTO, Calif., Dec. 7, 2005 – HP today announced, in cooperation with GretagMacbeth and the GIA, that it will sponsor an upcoming digital color seminar for graphic designers, art directors, professional photographers and marketing professionals. Other partners on this educational tour include Eizo, Quark, Adobe, Pantone and HOW magazine.
The “Color Control Freak” seminar will share creative perspectives and color knowledge with attendees in 20 North American cities from January 19 through February 28, 2006. Through interactive discussions and real world examples, customers will learn how to use the new Quark XPress 7 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 to specify color, accurately preview colors on-screen and ensure that designs are reproduced correctly on high quality printers, such as the HP Designjet large-format printer series. They will also learn how to leverage the latest technologies, including color measurement devices, monitor calibrators, profiling software, color standards, RIP workflows and color sharing applications.
“Today the lines between design and production are gradually becoming obsolete,” said Rafael Goma, Software Lab Manager, Inkjet Commercial Division, HP. “Graphic arts professionals are increasingly responsible for overseeing the production process and managing color across multiple platforms. It’s therefore critical that graphic firms master the art of color.”
All attendees will receive a complimentary Designer's Color Toolkit, which is equal in value to the registration fee. Custom-built to provide the ultimate learning experience, the Toolkit includes a monitor calibration system, a dynamic eLearning DVD on Color Management for Designers, CD-based color tools, presentation slides, the “Need to Know: Color by Design” manual and more.
Attendees can register online at www.graphintel.com/controlfreak or call toll-free 888.439.4403 to speak with seminar coordinators and register by phone. The 9am-4pm “Color Control Freak” seminar costs $299 per attendee and includes lunch and the Designer's Color Toolkit. Attendees who register by January 19th will save $30 by using the coupon code "toucan" when registering online or by phone.
