Paul Madill, Glunz & Jensen Receive NPES Gegenheimer Awards

Press release from the issuing company

Paul Madill, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Madern USA, and Glunz & Jensen have received the 2005 Harold W. Gegenheimer individual and corporate Awards for Industry Service at the Annual Conference of NPES, The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies October 9 in Key Biscayne, Florida. The awards, named for a former NPES President and Chairman Emeritus of Baldwin Technology Company, recognize qualities which Harold Gegenheimer continues to stand for – a lifelong commitment to technical innovation, sound management, support for education and research and working for the good of the whole industry. The winners receive plaques, and NPES contributes $2,000 in the name of the winners to the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation for scholarships offered to the employees or children of employees of NPES member companies to pursue studies in graphic communications. Madill was honored with the individual award for his active participation in the Association for more than 20 years. Elected to the board of directors in 1999, he has served as chairman of the Programs and Meetings Committee and the Audit Committee. He was elected to the board's Executive Committee in 2001. The nomination noted that he has made a significant contribution of time, energy and leadership to NPES and industry activities. Glunz & Jensen has been a member of the Association since 1989, when it joined under the name Luth International. Established by Peter Glunz and P. Bjarne Jensen in 1973, the company develops and markets high-quality equipment for process automation within the graphic and photographic industries, with a special focus on computer-to-plate processors. The company's American subsidiary, located in Elkwood, Virginia, sells and supports Glunz & Jensen products in North and South America. Accepting the award on Glunz & Jensen's behalf was company President W. Bruce Goodwin, an NPES board member since 2001. Nominations for the Gegenheimer awards may be made by any NPES member company, and are due by September 15th each year.
