Oce Demonstrates Print Shop for the 21st Century at PRINT 05

CHICAGO, Sept. 9 -- Oce, a global leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, joined other exhibitors in printing, graphic arts and allied industries as the PRINT 05 trade convention opened today. The company's exhibit, themed "Print Shop for the 21st Century," portrays the end-to-end workflow of a state-of-the-art digital print shop for the event's projected audience of 70,000 industry professionals.
Oce also used the industry event, which runs through September 15, as a venue to announce an array of new printing industry products for commercial printers and graphic arts professionals.
Mal Baboyian, President of Oce North America, Digital Document Systems division, said, "We're announcing new products in every area of the business: black & white and color, cut-sheet and continuous feed printers and digital workflow software."
The new products include:
-- The Oce VarioStream 9230 continuous-feed printing system, which brings three-over-three color capability to the Oce VarioStream 9000 family;
-- The Oce VarioPrint 3110 cut-sheet transaction printing system, a faster model in the Oce VarioPrint 3000 family;
-- Significant increase in speed for cut sheet, full-color printing with the Oce CPT60 and CPT90 cut-sheet color printers with rated speeds of 64 pages-per-minute (ppm) and 96 ppm respectively, bringing a new level of quality, image consistency and affordability to the full-color digital printing market;
-- An array of enhancements for the Oce VarioStream 7000 family of continuous feed printers;
-- Oce DPconvert(TM) software, a package that transforms proprietary print files created with Xerox DigiPath(TM) production software into industry-standard formats or Oce print streams keeping intact the embedded "job ticket" instructions such as automated paper stock, tab insertion or binding instructions;
-- A new version of Oce PRISMAweb(TM) software that creates multiple "digital storefronts" for print providers allowing them to emulate the look-and-feel of their customers' web sites; and
-- A new version of Oce PRISMAproduction(TM) which supports JDF/JMF-based job ticketing.
