Press release from the issuing company
Little Rock, AR and Itasca, IL, September 9, 2005 - Vestcom International, Inc., a leading provider of business communications and specialized retail marketing services, has purchased 5 Xeikon 5000 digital color presses.
Vestcom's clients are among the largest and most successful companies in the retail, financial services, managed healthcare and travel/leisure industries. The company employs 1,000 associates at its 17 locations throughout the United States and Canada.
The 5 Xeikon 5000s will be installed at Vestcom's Little Rock facility which specializes in data-intensive Point-of-Purchase solutions for North America's leading retailers. According to Steve Ulmschneider, Vestcom's Senior VP of Operations, "Our decision to purchase the Xeikon 5000 was based on its high volume printing capabilities. It can easily handle monthly volumes of up to 3 million letter-size pages and is certainly one of the most productive digital color presses available in the market today."
The Xeikon 5000, in combination with the X-800 Digital Front- End, outperforms its competition in terms of print quality and speed. In addition, it scores particularly high in terms of user friendliness and efficiency. The press registration and calibration are automated and the X-800 Digital Front-End has been developed with high productivity in mind: the controller is able to easily process print jobs incorporating complex graphics with variable data from over 1 million records. According to Clifton Cook, Vestcom's CTO, "The X-800 Digital Front-End is a vast improvement over previous DFEs. Built on an architecture that is open and scaleable, it combines superior RIP capabilities with variable data support and work-flow management integration."
"Through exceptional print speeds and superior uptime, the Xeikon 5000 will maximize Vestcom's productivity. With the Xeikon technology, Vestcom will further enhance its competitive advantage and strengthen its position as a market leader," concludes Kristof Vereenooghe, President and CEO, Punch Graphix Americas.
