May 2005 – CPS Printing, the rising star of San Diego County’s commercial printers, has added HP Indigo 5000 – the first such installation in the area.
The HP Indigo 5000 is an efficient, robust digital press designed for cost-effective, short-run, on-demand printing and variable data printing. Substantial innovations in paper handling, inking systems and software increase productivity. It can print on a range of substrates including labels, transparencies and other specialty papers. The HP Indigo 5000 produces the highest quality prints with the look and feel of offset.
“We are constantly seeking to provide the very best solutions for our clients’ business needs and accommodate our customers, and we are very happy to be able to expand our offering,” commented Dan Reeves of CPS Printing.
Situated in the Carlsbad Research Center, CPS Printing’s 31,000 square-foot corporate headquarters and printing facility features a unique computer tracking system that traces every print project from its inception -- whether it’s a simple one-color job or a sophisticated six-color die-cut assignment.
The addition of this digital communications service is inline with CPS Printing’s commitment to providing the very best products, services and solutions to its prestigious clientele. Attention to quality control and detail earned CPS PRINTING its ISO 9001 certification in June 1998. This highly prestigious certification was earned in nine months. The typical period of review for ISO 9001 certification is two years.
Starting with 20 employees and a dream to create the county’s best commercial printing establishment, Martin Solarsh and partner Philip Lurie -- who joined the company in 1990 -- have created a state-of-the-art full-service printing facility that is ranked in the top three of all commercial printers countywide in sales volume.
