Muller Martini Concepta web press to be shown in the Kodak booth at Print '05
Press release from the issuing company
Hauppauge, New York – Muller Martini, a global pacesetter in printing press innovation, has proven its leadership again with the Concepta variable size web offset press. The Concepta provides exceptional product flexibility and diversity, which can enhance productivity, increase job turnaround speed and build profit potential for direct mail and commercial printers.
The Concepta will be shown during Print '05 (September 9-15, 2005 in Chicago, Illinois) at the Kodak booth (#6707) located in the McCormick Place North Building, Level 3.
“Our Concepta press continues the evolution of technological advancement that Muller Martini is famous for worldwide, complementing our state-of-the-art Alprinta variable size commercial web offset press,” says Werner Naegeli, President and CEO of Muller Martini Corp. "The hybrid offset/digital press configuration displayed in the Kodak booth will highlight new capabilities for in-line customization for the direct mail and other commercial printing markets."
Among Concepta's impressive features is a highly modular design, offering the capabilities of up to 12 offset printing units and the integration of flexo and digital printing, as well as various in-line finishing options such as die cutting and perforating. What's more, the Concepta comes standard with Muller Martini's patent-pending, fully integrated and fully JDF/JMF compliant MRS automatic makeready system. Concepta can preset such essentials as register and ink fountain profiles without prompting – letting operators complete other tasks while the machine's unique and brand-new “artificial intelligence” takes care of the basics and handles set-ups for both new and repeat jobs automatically.
The Concepta web press, which runs at up to 1,200 feet per minute, has a 20-1/2” web width and can handle repeat lengths ranging from 14” to 28-1/3”. Concepta also delivers extraordinary print quality, thanks to it's technologically superior ink train that ensure uniform ink coverage over the entire speed range.
The hybrid offset/digital configuration includes a KODAK VERSAMARK high-speed continuous inkjet printing system, capable of printing 100% variable data information in-line with offset printing at speeds of up to 1,000 feet per minute. In the configuration being shown at Print ‘05, four-color offset printing will be complimented by two colors of variable messaging.
Visitors to Print '05 are urged to stop by the Kodak booth (#6707, McCormick Place North Building, Level 3) and see the Muller Martini Concepta web press. In addition to the Concepta, the Alprinta variable size web offset press featuring Muller Martini's state-of-the-art servo drive technology for maximum operational precision and superior reliability, as well as a robust ink train to ensure outstanding ink coverage is being shown at the Muller Martini booth (#4018), located in McCormick Place South.
