Reston, VA - Eight printing production technology categories that are predicted to be the highlight and show floor focal points of PRINT 05 & CONVERTING 05 have been identified as MUST SEE ‘EMS by that program's Selection Committee, consisting of 15 of the industry's most astute trade magazine editors, consultants and analysts. Technologies expected to create a buzz on the exhibition floor are: - New/significantly improved production software in the following separate functional categories - Color management - Color variable data printing software - Prepress - Other production software - On press or directly integrated inline finishing (Production in this technology category may include any on press non-printing functional operation except platemaking.) - Remote, soft copy, or screen proofing - Color variable digital production printing (60 ppm or faster) - Process-free, chemistry-free and ink jet imaged plates for computer-to- plate production - Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) production including label printing and/or affixing and direct-on-end-product printing - Management information systems - Computer integrated manufacturing (JDF and other methodology) “We feel this is a strong set of criteria by which to gauge the innovation happening in the industry, and at this event. Although these categories have been selected as product groups critical to profitable printing operations, the MUST SEE ‘EMS Program includes all types of the industry's hardware and software products and services. Visitors to PRINT 05 & CONVERTING 05 will be able to view these cutting-edge technologies on display on the show floor throughout the show's seven days. This will be the first time many of these technologies will be on display in this country, some for the first time anywhere, offering attendees a unique opportunity to view and investigate them first-hand.
