Ann Arbor, MI – July 18, 2005 -- Xitron, the prepress industry's leading independent developer and integrator of Raster Image Processors, RIP management software and workflow solutions, announced today the shipment of XiFlow 2.5 RIP Manager for Harlequin RIPs.
XiFlow 2.5 features automatic installation and configuration when used with the Navigator 7.0 RIP, enhanced job naming, enhanced job tracking, automatic client login and a 45-day trial mode for prospective users.
"My customers have seen a payback period of less than 30-days,” stated Jim Mellema, President of Xitron reseller Compudoc, Inc. One such user, Char Morris of MultiCopy agreed, adding “We are able to catch errors further upstream and avoid costly mistakes since we installed XiFlow.”
Xitron developed XiFlow to serve as a RIP manager for version 5.5 and higher Harlequin RIPs including those marketed by ABDick, Agfa, Compose, ECRM, Eskographics, Highwater, Mitsubishi, Presstek, and Screen, as well as Xitron’s own Navigator products. Moving workflow control from the RIP platform to the pre-press operator workstation, XiFlow allows creation of multiple job streams for all job types frequently handled by a prepress department.
Options such as the PDF tools with PDF creation and Preflighting, an enhanced ROAM viewer, integration with third-party imposition solutions and support for multiple clients and RIPs add to XiFlow’s extensive feature list.
Xitron products are available through a network of OEMS, Distributors, Dealers, and System Integrators worldwide. The Navigator RIP drives more than 150 output devices ranging from black and white and color proofers, to film imagesetters and the latest in CTP and direct-to-press systems. With annual shipments of nearly 1500 RIPs, Xitron is the largest independent provider of Harlequin RIPs in the market.
