EFI Colorproof XF Delivers Top Performance at IPA Color Proofing RoundUP
Press release from the issuing company
FOSTER CITY, Calif.--June 14, 2005-- EFI, the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, today announced that its ground-breaking proofing solution, Colorproof XF, achieved winning results at the IPA Color Proofing RoundUP, a significant industry benchmark for proofing devices. The third annual event, which draws major proofing vendors from around the world, was held in conjunction with the IPA Technical Conference, June 7-9, 2005, in Rosemont, Illinois.
EFI Colorproof XF demonstrated superior performance in this comprehensive, independent evaluation of today's color proofing market -- competing with solutions from 13 ink jet proofing, soft proofing and other proofing technology companies. The IPA Proofing RoundUP judges evaluated soft proofing systems in a unique competition with testing based on Gracol Characterization data. Participants competed in the categories of: Delta E Average (Proof versus Press); Visual Image Quality; Spot Colors; Colorimetric Accuracy and PDF/X Compliancy.
Surpassing the competition in what is reputed to be the most important category, Colorproof XF's performance at the RoundUP reinforced EFI's position as the industry-leading ICC proofing ink jet printer solution provider. Colorproof XF, printing on the new Epson 4800 system with EFI PremiumProof 8260 paper, generated an extremely high level of consistency for all measured values for Delta E Average and Peak Combination. In the Delta E Average test, the EFI solution generated below 1 Delta E -- a stellar score among ICC-based software. Colorproof XF earned high marks in the Visual Image category, and was successful in the pass/fail categories of Spot Color and PDF/X compliancy as well.
Colorproof XF's scalability and versatility, ease of use, high caliber speed and flexibility make it the ideal proofing solution for commercial printers of all sizes, from newspaper publishers to creative agencies and photographers. Its open, cross-platform color management system works with any profiling solution that creates ICC profiles. Delivering a unique, modular approach to proofing, Colorproof XF offers several component and output options that can be joined in different combinations to create basic or extended configurations. With cross Windows and Mac OS X platform support and compatibility with the current JDF (Job Definition Format) standard for open job ticketing, Colorproof XF allows customers to customize a solution to their exact proofing requirements, and easily add more functionality as needs expand.
"Colorproof XF's outstanding performance at the IPA Color Proofing RoundUP is a significant achievement -- another 'proof point' that EFI's breakthrough modular proofing system is the commercial printers' optimal proofing solution," said Ghilad Dziesietnik, EFI chief technology officer. "This competition has truly become the benchmark test for discriminating graphic solutions providers who value independent, third-party evaluation."
