Press release from the issuing company

White Stone, VA, May 2005—The Research & Engineering Council of the National Association for Printing Leadership has called for nominations for its Pressroom Operations Manager of the Year award. The recipient will be named November 2 at the 31st annual R&E Council Productivity in the Pressroom Conference in Chicago. The award recognizes an individual who personifies the principles of leadership in pressroom operations management, and who has a proven record of providing outstanding service for customers and creating value for his or her company. The 2004 award was presented to Scott Repa, Pressroom Manager at Brown Printing, East Greenville, Pennsylvania. Previous recipients include Mike Popp, Vice President of Press Operations at Quad/Graphics, Sussex, WI, and David Knoff, Vice President of Manufacturing for Arandell Corporation, Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. “This award is presented annually to honor those who excel in the challenging arena of pressroom management,” said Ron Mihills, managing director of the R&E Council of NAPL. “It is not meant for company presidents and owners, but for individuals who are integrally involved in pressroom production activities, including, but not limited to, pressroom managers, plant managers, or plant engineers.” Nominations for the 2005 R&E Council Pressroom Operations Manager of the Year award may be submitted by co-workers, company owners, suppliers, or industry colleagues. In addition to a completed application form, letters of recommendation and support of the nomination are welcome. Nomination forms, which are due by August 31, 2005, may be downloaded from http://public.napl.org/assets/pdf/POM%20Call%20for%20Nominations%202005.pdf.
