Designmerge Pro For Macintosh And Windows Supporting Quarkxpress 6.5

Press release from the issuing company

SCHAUMBURG, IL -- May 3, 2005 -- Meadows Publishing Solutions (MPS) today announced the release of DesignMerge Macintosh & Windows for QuarkXPress 6.5. With this introduction, DesignMerge becomes the only cross-platform (PC and Macintosh) VDP Xtensions Module to support QuarkXPress users up to version 6.5. With the rising acceptance and integration of PCs into design workflows (over 25% integration according to TrendWatch Graphic Arts), the emergence of PC-compatible, page-layout based variable data publishing (VDP) software is expected. Yet DesignMerge remains the only cross-platform (PC and Macintosh) VDP Xtensions Module available. It allows page designers to quickly and easily transfer their skills back and forth among platforms, practically eliminating learning cycles. MPS will be demonstrating DesignMerge for Macintosh & Windows for QuarkXPress 6.5 in booth #85 at the OnDemand Conference and Exposition. 1000 Users... MPS has also announced the 1000th DesignMerge installation worldwide. In addition to being sold direct, DesignMerge is distributed through the Canon, Xeikon, and Xerox channels, as well as through Enovation Graphic Systems and other select value added resellers. MPS has also marketing partnerships with leaders such as EFI and Quark, Incorporated. The collaboration of these marketing efforts has elevated DesignMerge to a leadership position in the VDP space. Meadows Publishing Solutions Quote... "One critical obstacle to the complete acceptance of VDP is a reluctance of businesses to make large investments in new technology that require extensive learning curves," said Jeff Cain, OEM Channel Manager, MPS. "DesignMerge is a solution to these concerns. Base-priced at only $3495, this affordable software maintains the look designers are used to in QuarkXPress, thus eliminating long learning curves, while converting Quark into a VDP workhorse. While some are still concerned that VDP jobs are still not plentiful, TrendWatch Graphic Arts(tm) recently reported that 29% of all commercial printers produce VDP jobs in-house (58% of digital printers), while another 13% are forced to outsource them. And 38% of creative professionals say they have produced VDP jobs in the last 12 months, including 49% who say they've produced full-color variable-image, variable-text jobs. With virtually no learning curve, ROI comes with just one job," added Cain.
