Miami – June 13, 2005 – EFI, the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, is previewing a feature-packed new upgrade to its industry-leading EFI Hagen OA management information system at Connect 2005, the printing industry's largest user conference taking place through June 15th. In addition to a new mailing module, key improvements have been made in accounts receivables, estimating and integration with EFI add-on products. Hagen OA version 8.5 will begin shipping this summer. EFI Hagen OA is an enterprise level MIS solution for technology-driven printing operations of all sizes, from small commercial printers to multi-plant enterprises. Providing a robust and advanced accounting package with high-end applications for estimating, job management, scheduling, purchasing, inventory and fulfillment, Hagen OA allows users to collect, share, analyze and respond to information in real time. “EFI is dedicated to continuous improvement to ensure our customers receive the latest and most powerful MIS software solutions. This next release of Hagen OA builds on the major enhancements we delivered last year, providing added efficiencies from new features and JDF compatibility along with integration to add-on products like PrinterSite Fulfillment,” said Jay Katzenberger, EFI Hagen OA product manager. The new mailing module is one of the biggest additions in version 8.5, and includes maintenance tables which allow users to create mailing specific data in the Jobs program. The mailing module can be integrated with WindowBook mailing software – the leader in postal shipping, manifesting and mailing productivity software – so that data can be seamlessly transmitted between Hagen OA and WindowBook. A new QuickQuote feature in the estimating module optimizes and simplifies the estimating and invoicing workflow for short run, quick turn-around printing customers. Additionally, a new Quick Cash process has been added to the Cash Receipts program allowing for the application of cash by invoice number. Integration with EFI Add-On Modules Hagen OA 8.5 will be integrated with EFI Prograph publication planning software. Prograph acts as a production planning module for the Hagen user who needs additional horsepower for planning books, catalogues, magazines and directories. This release of Hagen will be the first to support the new interface of PrinterSite Fulfillment 2.0, EFI's web-based, client-facing module that helps printers streamline inventory management and offer value-added online fulfillment ordering services to customers. This integration enables both clients and staff to accurately track quantities and order status in real-time. For example, as orders are placed and new work is produced for clients, inventory updates from Hagen OA are reflected in the online product catalog. PrinterSite Internal 2.0 provides field sales personnel and CSR's with secure, direct access to submit quote requests and the ability to obtain job status data from Hagen OA. EFI Auto-Count and EFI PrintFlow can also be integrated with Hagen OA. Hagen OA to be CIP4 JDF-enabled Version 8.5 will be the first release of Hagen OA incorporating open JDF connectivity. Hagen OA will support the ICS for both prepress and press (sheetfed) according to the specifications of the CIP4 organization promoting the JDF open standard. Additionally, the upcoming release of Hagen OA is optimized to work with the Fiery print controller (System 6 and higher), the world's leading production servers for digital printing. Utilizing the JDF technology, communication between Hagen OA and other JDF enabled devices helps print businesses collect, share, analyze and respond to information in real time.
