ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 13, 2005 - Xerox Corporation has awarded "Partner of the Year" honors to six manufacturers and distributors of feeding and finishing printing solutions that have contributed to the success of Xerox and graphic-communications customers. The Production Systems Group, which operates Xerox's high-end production publishing and printing business, named C.P. Bourg as Overall Finishing Partner of the Year.  C.P. Bourg, a Xerox partner for more than 16 years, was recognized for its success in integrating the Xerox Manual + Book Factory, created through a joint partnership that also includes Lasermax Roll Systems and Challenge Machinery Company, with the Xerox iGen3 Digital Production Press and DocuTech 6180 Production Publisher. The Manual + Book Factory allows customers to print, collate and bind both black-and-white and color books and manuals on-demand.  In one process, the system can turn roll-fed paper into a high-quality perfect bound book with a color cover, trimmed and ready to be packed and shipped.  The company was also honored for the C.P. Bourg BDFx Booklet Maker, which creates cost-effective, high-volume booklets and manuals when coupled with a Xerox production printer. "Our partners are integral to the development of innovative finishing solutions that increase our customers' client bases and print volumes, boosting their bottom lines," said Jerry Sturnick, manager of feeding and finishing solutions, Xerox Corporation.  "These partners have helped Xerox customers create books, manuals and pamphlets that differentiate themselves from their competition." Five other companies were also honored: Original Equipment Manufacturer Partner of the Year - Gradco Inc. was recognized for its continuous development of enhanced high-capacity staplers and stackers.  Using the staplers and stackers with Xerox entry-level production color devices allows customers to efficiently stack and transport high-volume jobs from their digital press to additional post press near-line and offline finishing solutions. Reseller Partners of the Year - Horizon International Inc. and Standard Finishing Systems were cited for manufacturing and distribution of the Standard Horizon ColorWorks 2000 BookletMaker, an in-line finishing device designed exclusively for the Xerox DocuColor line of digital color presses.  The booklet maker automatically combines bleed trimming, scoring, stitching, folding, face trimming and stacking. Reference Partner of the Year - Duplo, which provides a wide array of finishing solutions, was instrumental in the sale of numerous Xerox monochrome and color printers last year. Duplo equipment creates a complete printing and booklet making system ideal for on-demand applications in the financial, publishing, education, and commercial print industries.  Service Partners of the Year - Lasermax Roll Systems was recognized for its dedication to customer satisfaction supporting the DocuSheeter roll-to-sheet feeders on the DocuTech and DocuPrint line of printers, along with the new DocuSheeter iG roll-feed system for the Xerox iGen3 press.  The system can feed up to 50,000 sheets of paper per roll for continuous printing, reducing the need for operator attention and increasing productivity and cost savings. - Standard Finishing Systems was cited for excellent service and support of the quickly growing population of Standard Horizon ColorWorks 2000 Booklet Makers and recently announced ColorWorks 8000 Booklet Maker used with Xerox DocuColor digital color presses.
