Press release from the issuing company
Friday, April 29, 2005 -- The Central New York Newspaper Group will install an integrated postpress system from Goss International at a new facility now under construction for combined production of the Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin, the Ithaca Journal and the Elmira Star-Gazette. Components will include two Goss NP630 inserters as well as gripper conveyors and Goss Omnizone supervisory controls.
"The NP630 inserters and Goss press and inserter gripper have a proven record at other Gannett papers," states Andrew Swanton, project manager for the Central New York Newspaper Group. "Our new mailroom equipment will meet our daily and Sunday inserting needs for many years."
One Goss NP630 inserter at the Central New York Newspaper Group will have 30 stations and be equipped for dual delivery. The second will have 14 stations. Goss International will also supply a Goss NP125 delivery gripper, a Goss NP200 press gripper and on-line transfer components.
Goss Omnizone supervisory controls will be used to streamline preprint advertising operations across all three newspapers.
The new Central New York Newspaper Group facility in Johnson City, NY will go into operation in the fall of 2006.
