Boston Print Buyers' Program to Showcase Cutting-Edge Technology

Press release from the issuing company

(Boston, MA) -- Print buyers - people who purchase commercial printing in any capacity - are a unique group of professionals. If you aren't in the graphic arts industry, you probably never even heard of them. But for many, print buying is a lifelong, full-time, very exciting profession. Margie Dana, president of Boston Print Buyers, should know. A corporate print buyer for 15 years, she has been a national marketing specialist and speaker specializing in the printing industry since 1997. Margie is widely recognized for her e-newsletter, Print Tips, which highlights cutting-edge printing topics. Through ongoing communication with her subscribers, she realized that print buyers had limited opportunities for sharing knowledge with each other. So, in 2004, she founded her second business: Boston Print Buyers. The highlight of membership in Boston Print Buyers is its bimonthly dinner events. Each program combines networking opportunities with an educational presentation sponsored by a printing manufacturer. These presentations must “enlighten and delight our attendees,” noted Margie, “and not function as sales presentations. Our goal is to have lots of fun while we learn from each other.” Members also enjoy multiple online benefits, including a members-only forum, a member directory, and a free subscription to the in-depth Print Tips e-newsletter. On April 13, Boston Print Buyer's third dinner event will be sponsored by Winthrop Printing, an independent commercial printer in Boston. They will present on cutting edge screening technology (XM screening, which is a combination of AM and FM screening) and will introduce :Sublima, an AGFA product. The first two events were completely sold out. Membership in Boston Print Buyers is limited to professionals who purchase printing in any capacity.
