Heidelberg Kicks Off Series Of Demo Center Open Houses
Press release from the issuing company
KENNESAW, Ga. January 26, 2005 – Print industry leader Heidelberg has kicked off a series of open house events at its Regional Print Media Demonstration Centers across the United States. Highlighting innovative products through seminars and demonstrations, the first open house was held at Heidelberg’s Central Region facility, located in Mt. Prospect, Ill. last week, with additional events to follow at centers in Cranbury, N.J. and Los Angeles.
“Heidelberg is committed to educating printers on the latest and most innovative solutions that will help them increase productivity, produce higher quality work, improve print processes and ultimately drive their businesses,” said Steen Jensen, senior vice president of product management for Heidelberg USA. “Through seminars, product demonstrations and one-on-one time with Heidelberg expert technicians, these open houses enable printers to experience firsthand the cutting-edge solutions that can give them an edge in today’s competitive market.”
With over 175 registrants, the first open house was held last week at Heidelberg’s Central Region office on January 19 and 20. Printers, print shop owners and in-plant printers from the central United States took part in seminars and product demonstrations of Heidelberg prepress, press, direct imaging and postpress technologies, including Prinect, the HP Designjet 5500, Quickmaster DI 46-4 Pro and Speedmaster CD 74-6. Jim Mauro, Heidelberg’s manager of Prinect products, educated attendees on how JDF and Prinect, Heidelberg’s computer integrated manufacturing solution, can help printers streamline the print workflow from beginning to end.
The next open house event will be held at Heidelberg’s East Region facility on February 1, in Cranbury, N.J. Event highlights will include special seminars on trends in UV printing and innovations in thermal platesetters and two-sided coating. There will be product demonstrations of prepress, press, direct imaging and postpress equipment. Based on the success of Heidelberg’s first open house, company executives expect this event to draw attendees from across the northeast.
“At Heidelberg, it’s important that we demonstrate the quality of our equipment and our unique innovations, but also our commitment to educating printers about how these new solutions will help them run more efficient and profitable businesses,” said Bob Boyer, Sr., senior vice president of sales for Heidelberg USA. “These demonstration center events do just that. Printers walk away from these open houses knowing two things: how Heidelberg can help their businesses succeed and how our equipment can help them bring value-added services to their customers.”
