Quad/Graphics Named 2004 Business of the Year by Marian College
Press release from the issuing company
November 12, 2004 -- Quad/Graphics has been named Marian College’s 2004 Business of the Year, an award given annually to companies demonstrating leadership and innovation in their fields of endeavor.
“Marian College has a history of working with business,” said Steve Prestegard, Director of Public Relations and Marketing for the college. “We chose Quad/Graphics for this award because you have to go a long way to find a company that’s more innovative.”
Quad/Graphics President & CEO Tom Quadracci was on hand to accept the award from Richard Ridenour, M.D., President of Marian College. Mr. Ridenour explained the award recognized, among other things, our company’s ability to persevere following the unexpected death of Founder Harry V. Quadracci in 2002, as well as our emphasis on service and giving back to the community.
Added Mr. Prestegard: “There are two outstanding distinguishing characteristics of Quad/Graphics that set it apart. One, it has always shown concern for not only the health of its own firm but also the health of the printing industry. And two, it has developed a corporate culture that is unique.”
The college — located in Fond du Lac, Wis. — bestowed its Business and Industry Awards on November 9 in ceremony at the Strayer Center.
Now in its 23rd year, the award’s previous recipients include M&I Bank, Michels Corporation and Alliant Energy.
