GRAPH EXPO, Chicago – Oct. 12, 2004 –EFI, the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, today announced a relationship with Window Book, Inc., the leader in postal shipping, manifesting and mailing productivity software. In response to customer requests for mailing tools,EFI will integrate Window Book with its print MIS software to enable customers to more easily manage the logistics of mailing and postage documentation.
As more and more printers provide in-house mailing capabilities, they need a robust mailing system that seamlessly interfaces with their existing MIS solution and enables cost-effective conformance to U.S. Postal Service requirements. DAT-MAIL Editor from Window Book, initially integrated with EFI Hagen OA, will save EFI clients many thousands of dollars a year by improving postage documentation and reporting accuracy and substantially reducing the labor-hours required to produce this documentation. EFI customers will be able to schedule drop-shipped mailings from imported Mail.dat files, handle advanced postage deposits, manage meter, stamp and postage inventory, and produce postal forms.
“EFI is committed to bringing best-of-breed products to our customers, and our relationship with Window Book is further proof of this pledge,” saidMarc Olin,VP/GM of Commercial Print Systems at EFI. “Many of ourHagen, Logic and PSI customers were already using Window Bookor looking at solutions to solve their current mailing issues. Now all of their files and postage tracking information will be seamlessly passed to their MIS system, enabling easier job costing analysis, reporting and invoicing. New users of Window Book will be impressed with its powerful features and reliabilityand thereal-time integration to their EFI Print MIS.”
“We’re excited to work with EFI to integrate our smart postal solutions with their print MIS offerings,” said Jeff Peoples, president of Window Book. “With our solutions, EFI customer’s mailing and shipping operations will be more efficient, they will have more confidence they have the latest USPS information, and the amount of tedious manual labor will be reduced, enabling them to provide better service to their end customers.”
Using industry-standard Mail.dat files supplied by presort programs or list processors, DAT-MAIL allows users to easily manipulate data to reflect what is actually mailed. It can quickly produce presort reports, postage statements and production reports that reflect these changes and supports electronic acceptance and verification at a Detached Mail Unit. DAT-MAIL also enhances revenues by supporting new USPS programs in which EFI customers may participate to attract new business or additional revenues from existing clients.
