Progressive Color Media LLC Announces Leadership Team

Ann Arbor, Mich. (October 11, 2004) – Progressive Color Media LLC, a new company powered by Flint Ink to provide a full range of workflow color management solutions integrating hardware, software and services, announces its executive leadership team. Led by Diane Watt, former vice president of Flint Ink’s Emerging Business Segments group and new president of Progressive Color Media, the team includes Daniel Goodenow, director of sales and services, Fay Sommers, director of product development, Tony Ricketts, senior field service specialist, and Albert Johnson, senior sales specialist.

The Key Players
Diane Watt – president
Prior to being appointed president and leader of the executive team of Progressive Color Media, Diane Watt was responsible for directing the evaluation and commercialization of new business opportunities outside of traditional ink segments and processes. Watt has also held several other management positions at Flint Ink. Before joining Flint Ink in 1999, Watt worked as a management consultant in the healthcare industry, specializing in market opportunity analyses and strategic planning for multimillion-dollar health systems, while affiliated with Chi Laboratory Systems and CytoDiagnostics. She is the co-author of several articles regarding clinical laboratory management. Ms. Watt holds a B.A. in Microbiology from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), and an M.B.A. in Marketing and Business Policy from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
Daniel Goodenow – director of sales and services
Daniel Goodenow, director of sales and services, is responsible for developing and managing the company’s color management consulting services. He brings ten years of experience in the electronic imaging and printing industries. Prior to joining Progressive Color Media, Goodenow was the branch manager of Enovation Graphic Systems, where he had full P&L responsibility for the $17 million graphic arts distribution business. He also has six years of experience with Precision Color, a pre-press company, where he was vice president of operations for the company’s Las Vegas large format facility. Goodenow holds a B.S. in Engineering from Michigan State University and an M.S. in Printing Management and Sciences from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Fay Sommer – director of product development
Fay Sommer, director of product development, is charged with strategic planning, directing product development efforts and establishing services for new technology. Sommer has an extensive background in research and development, with expertise in the areas of digital imaging, prepress and print optimization. Since joining Flint Ink in 1986, Fay has conducted research, established and coordinated successful technical service programs, developed new products and initiated training programs. She holds her B.S. in Physics from Eastern Michigan University. She has authored numerous research papers and technical bulletins for the industry. She is a member of ICC, IPA, PMA and TAGA.
Tony Ricketts – senior field service specialist
Tony Ricketts, senior field service specialist, is responsible for conducting baseline assessments to determine the state of customers’ color workflows. He also develops and implements custom solutions for color-managed workflows. He has twelve years of experience serving in various management positions at Nielsen, including prepress systems manager and prepress technical director. Ricketts has served on the advisory board for the Digital Workflow Group of the PIA/GATF from 2000 to 2004. He was a member of the Litho Club for 14 years, and is a frequent speaker at conferences, including VuePoint and GATF Tech Alert. Ricketts holds an Associates of Science degree in printing technology from Vincennes University.
Albert Johnson – senior sales specialist
Albert Johnson, senior sales specialist, has more than seventeen years’ experience in the graphic arts industry. Before coming to Progressive Color Media, Johnson was responsible for North American technical sales for the graphics division of EFI (Electronics For Imaging), a world leader in controllers for print engine manufacturers. He joined EFI as a result of the acquisition of Best Color by EFI in 2003. Johnson was the North and South American technical services manager at Best Color, a developer of software RIPS for inkjet proofing. Prior to Best Color, Johnson was the national electronics support specialist at Pitman Company, where he implemented Gannett’s USA Today direct-to-plate conversion for USA Today locations nationwide. He has certifications from AGFA, Art Work Systems, HP and other prepress manufacturers.
