Torrance, CA (October 4, 2004)— Xplor International today announced the awarding of sponsorships to two students and one faculty member from the Communications Department of Parsons School of Design of New York City, New York, an institution well-known for its forward-thinking, digital design curricula. As part of an early pilot program, the sponsorship underwrites travel, accommodation, and conference attendance fees in order to give students from qualifying education institutions the means to gain greater exposure to emerging technologies and trends, while providing networking opportunities with worldwide document communications professionals. The trio will attend the upcoming Xplor’s 25th Electronic Document Systems Conference and Exhibit in Dallas, Texas, October 24-28, 2004.
“A small investment in the present brings a ten-fold return in the future,” said Skip Henk, EDP, president & CEO of Xplor International. “As one of the principal associations for the electronic document systems industry, we feel it is our duty to not only to support the advancement of today's professionals, but tomorrow's as well.”
“Were honored to be a part of Xplor’s pilot sponsorship program and appreciate their generosity, I would also like to personally thank Roger Gimbel for his support in making this a reality.” said Michael Josefowicz, special projects manager of Parsons Communication Design Publishing Center. “This kind of corporate initiative enables those selected to have first-hand access to the latest technological developments in the field and networking opportunities often only available to those more established in their careers.”
