KENNESAW, Ga. – August 31, 2004 – Heidelberg USA announces the following sample of new product installations:
Allegra Print and Imaging Purchases Printmaster PM 52
Allegra Print and Imaging in Orlando, Fla., has purchased a Printmaster PM 52, which has helped secure new customers, boosted productivity 15 percent and increased revenue by nearly 10 percent. Allegra became the first shop in the U.S. to test the four-color Printmaster 52 press and has produced more than two million finished pieces since installation in November 2003. Allegra works with some of the area’s largest companies, including several major theme parks, local restaurants and other businesses and agencies. Allegra employs 16 full-time staff that specializes in quick turnarounds and advanced 4-color work.
Allen Envelope & Printing Company Expands Equipment Range
Allen Envelope & Printing Company of Summerville, N.J., recently installed a Prosetter 52, a 4-color Speedmaster SM 52, a Printmaster QM 46, a Pro 68 plate processor and a Polar cutter. The new equipment is being used to produce general commercial materials, including letterhead, business cards and newsletters. Allen Envelope & Printing has been a loyal Heidelberg customer for more than six years.
American Heritage Press Expands Bindery With New Heidelberg Folder
American Heritage Press, located in Winter Park, Fla., recently installed a USA B-20 folder that has increased the shop’s production significantly. The new folder is being used to finish 4-color brochures, flyers and handouts. American Heritage is a general commercial shop that specializes in business-to-business jobs.
Benton Bindery Increases Sales With New Heidelberg Finishing Equipment
Benton Bindery, based in Carlstadt, N.J., recently installed several new pieces of Heidelberg equipment, including two ST 270 saddlestitchers and a Stahlfolder Ti 55 folder, to improve output and meet tighter customer deadlines. Thanks to the new installation, Benton has hired four new workers and increased the shop’s size by more than 15,000 square feet. The shop is using the new Heidelberg equipment to finish a wide array of materials, including books, magazines, binders, brochures, pamphlets and medical inserts for large commercial printers, small conventional shops, digital printers, warehouses and retail shops. Benton is a well-established trade bindery that has been in business since 1973.
Cohber Press Increases Production With Stahl Folder
Cohber Press, Inc., of Rochester, N.Y., recently added a Stahl folder K78 to its fleet of Heidelberg equipment. Since installation, the shop has seen a 40 percent increase in production and has reduced makeready significantly. Founded in 1931, Cohber Press is an all-Heidelberg general commercial print shop that services ad agencies and various corporations.
Consolidated Graphics Group Installs Drupa Edition CD 102
Consolidated Graphics Group, Inc., located in Cleveland, Ohio, recently added a drupa-edition 6-color CD 102 with preset plus feeder and delivery to its fleet of Heidelberg equipment. The new press is being used to produce a wide variety of general commercial materials, maxing out at 15,000 impressions per hour. Since the installation, production at the all-Heidelberg shop has increased by 25 percent. Consolidated Graphics has been a loyal Heidelberg customer since its inception in 1996. With additional locations in Warren, Ohio, and in the New York area, the company services a regional clientele consisting of ad agencies and large corporations.
Globe Print Shop Adds New Heidelberg Press, Polar Cutter
Globe Print Shop of Hazelton, Pa., recently added a 2-color Printmaster QM 46 and a 78X Polar cutter. The all-Heidelberg shop has been a customer for more than 50 years and services a wide range of clientele from pharmaceutical companies to law firms. The company, which has been in business for more than 68 years, is using the new equipment to produce general commercial work, including letterhead, stationery and brochures.
Globecal Opens Shop With Heidelberg Equipment
Globecal, LLC, of San Francisco, recently installed a 2-color Printmaster QM 46, a Stahl USA Quickfolder and a Polar cutter. The equipment is being used to produce business collateral, brochures and newsletters. Globecal specializes in quick printing, software solutions and variable data printing. The shop has been in business for one month.
Globus Printing & Packaging Installs Speedmaster CD 74
Globus Printing & Packaging, located in Minster, Ohio, recently installed a 6-color Speedmaster CD 74 with coater and access control. The new press has helped Globus to increase capacity, allowing the shop to prepare 17 jobs in one eight-hour shift. Founded in 1957, the general commercial printer is family-owned and operated and specializes in books. Globus has been using Heidelberg equipment sine 1975.
Graphico Corporation Continues Heidelberg Tradition With Speedmaster 52
Graphico Corporation of New Jersey recently expanded its press room by adding a new two-color Speedmaster 52. The press is being used to produce newsletters, brochures and four-color jobs. Located in Clark, N.J., the all-Heidelberg shop has been in business for 25 years. Graphico Corp. is family-owned and operated and serves a wide variety of clients such as CitiGroup and Loreal cosmetics.
The Graphics Group Installs Postpress Equipment
The Graphics Group, a consolidated graphics company located in Dallas, recently installed a host of bindery equipment, including a Polar Cutter, Transomat, Stacklift with platform and a jogger. The recent edition of the postpress equipment has increased efficiency within the all-Heidelberg shop. The Graphics Group is a mid-size printer that services local ad agencies, graphic designers and various corporations.
Hammer Litho Installs Speedmaster CD 102 With CutStar Feeder
Hammer Lithograph, based in Rochester, N.Y., recently installed an 8-color Speedmaster CD 102 with coater and CutStar roll-to-sheet feeder. The Speedmaster is Hammer Litho’s first Heidelberg press and the CutStar installation is the first in the U.S. to use lightweight polypropylene in roll form, producing cut-and-stack labels at reduced cost and with less waste. The shop is currently running the Speedmaster CD 102 at full capacity, at speeds up to 15,000 impressions per hour. Hammer Litho is the world’s largest manufacturer of labels for bottled water, including Nestlé’s Poland Spring brand. Other major customers are multinational companies in the food and beverage industry, including Coca Cola, PepsiCo, and Cadbury Schweppes.
HonBlue Installs Prinect Printready With Remote Service
HonBlue, Inc. of Honolulu, Hawaii, recently installed a Prinect Printready prepress system anchored by a Prosetter computer-to-plate (CTP) device and supported by Heidelberg’s Web-based Remote Service option. HonBlue became a Heidelberg customer in 1998, in the midst of a metamorphosis from commercial typesetter to service bureau to provider of small-format color, variable data and direct-imaging services. With revenue of $17 million in 2003 and 184 employees, HonBlue is the parent company of $4.4 million general commercial printer Electric Pencil, also located in Honolulu.
Jewett Publications Expands Press Room With Printmaster QM 46
Jewett Publications, Inc., located in Farmersburg, Ind., recently installed a 2-color Printmaster QM 46. The new press is being used to produce letterhead and business cards. Founded in 1924, Jewett Publications is a family-owned and operated shop specializing in general commercial work for political campaigns. The company has been a loyal Heidelberg customer for eight years.
Lithographic Communications Installs Printmaster PM 74, Prepress Interface
Lithographic Communications, LLC, of Munster, Ind., recently added a 4-color Printmaster PM 74 press with dryer, automatic blanket washers and prepress interface. The company is using the new press to produce newsletters, brochures, newspaper inserts and direct-mail advertising materials at 12,000 impressions per hour. Since the installation in August, the press has produced a total of more than one million impressions. The general commercial shop is family-owned and operated and houses 48 employees. Lithographic was founded in 1988 and has been a loyal Heidelberg customer for six years.
Master Color Installs Printmaster QM 46
Master Color, located in Roseville, Calif., recently installed a 2-color Printmaster QM 46. The new equipment is being used to produce stationery, brochures and newsletters. The general commercial print shop services graphic designers and customers in the healthcare, automobile and wine industries. Master Color has been a loyal Heidelberg customer since its inception 10 years ago.
Megaprints Adds Two Presses, Prepress, Postpress Equipment
Megaprints, a sub-division of Sam Enterprises, Inc., recently installed a 4-color Speedmaster 52, a 2-color Printmaster, a Prosetter 52, a Stahlfolder and a Polar cutter. The new equipment is being used to produce brochures, newsletter, postcards and flyers at 11,000 impressions per hour. Located in Winter Park, Fla., this general commercial print shop specializes in wide-format printing and services clients in the hospitality industry, including Hard Rock Café and Marriott Hotels & Resorts.
O’Neil Printing Installs Speedmaster SM 102
O’Neil Printing, located in Phoenix, Ariz., recently added an 8-color Speedmaster SM 102 with perfector and aqueous coating. The shop has been using the new press for a variety of jobs ranging from longer runs of one million pieces of signature work to shorter runs of business cards or envelopes. The new SM 102 replaced a 10-year-old Heidelberg press in order to keep up with the shop’s increasing workload. Founded in 1908, O’Neil Printing is the largest sheetfed print shop in Arizona and has been a loyal Heidelberg client since its inception. The shop services a diverse client base which includes graphic designers, ad agencies and corporate customers.
The Printers Place Adds Fourth Printmaster QM 46
The Printers Place of Montclair, N.J., recently installed a 2-color Printmaster QM 46. The press is the newest edition to the shop’s fleet of Heidelberg presses and is being used to produce newsletters, brochures and high-end business cards. The Printers Place is a general commercial printer that has been in business for 30 years. It services regional customers including advertising agencies and Fortune 500 companies.
Starnet Media Group Adds Polar Cutter
Starnet Media Group, of Allendale, N.J., recently installed a new Polar cutter, purchased at drupa 2004. The cutter is being used to finish general commercial work, along with business collateral and direct-mail pieces. Founded in 1988, Starnet has been using Heidelberg equipment for 13 years.
