Domino to exhibit Graph Expo 2004

Press release from the issuing company

The Commercial Printing Division of leading inkjet printer manufacturer Domino, will exhibit the very latest products from its range of variable data print solutions at the forthcoming Graphexpo exhibition in Chicago, IL, this October (Stand No. 3642). The Domino ON Demand - a complete variable data printing solution comprising estimating, prepress, proofing and printing modules, will provide the centerpiece of Domino’s portfolio of printing solutions. Domino will showcase a four-head system, demonstrating its ability to print multiple colors with solvent inks on a wide range of substrates. Alongside the Domino ON Demand, Domino will exhibit the new Bitjet+ printer, an enhanced version of its successful Bitjet binary printer. The JetArray, Domino’s versatile high speed inkjet printer capable of printing up to eight lines of fully variable information in just one pass, will also be displayed. Completing the company’s line-up of commercial printing solutions will be Domino’s A-Series, the world’s best-selling continuous inkjet printer. The Domino ON Demand comprises estimating, prepress, proofing and printing modules and has been described as the complete variable data print solution. Domino ON Demand allows the end user to add variable data capability to a job and, at the same time, save time and set up costs by allowing the prepress operator to design, layout and proof the job long before it reaches final print production. Graphexpo will see Domino exhibit the system in conjunction with a Buhrs, off-line mailtable. Domino’s Bitjet+ is the result of continuous product development and features a number of key design enhancements that further increase efficiency and reduce job turnaround time for users. Domino will link two Bitjet+ units and a JetArray to a Heidelberg ST400 Stitcher during the show, demonstrating the ability to selectively insert and variably print the corresponding product with inside – outside matching capabilities. The system will be driven by driven by Domino’s powerful Editor GT controller, a sophisticated inkjet controller package, that offers users complete control by managing up to eight configurable print heads anywhere on the line. The Jet Array is suitable for a wide range of applications requiring high-resolution printing of text, barcodes and especially addressing. It can be fully integrated into existing production equipment and uses Domino’s proven inkjet technology to produce up to eight lines of text and variable data at speeds of up to 800 ft per minute. At Graphexpo, the JetArray will print upside down on a plough-opening station, showing its versatility and ability to print in any print orientation. Domino’s A-Series printer will show the application of printing inside the pocket, which adds another dimension to variable printing throughout the complete stitcher line. With its small footprint, reliability and ease of operation, it makes it an easy integration almost anywhere on the line. David Ellen, Domino’s Director of Commercial Printing Sales, comments, “Graphexpo offers the opportunity to prove that Domino is the industry’s frontrunner in hi-speed, VDP applications. We are particularly excited at demonstrating the numerous benefits of the Domino ON Demand solution in front of a mass audience, as this proved very popular with visitors at the recent drupa exhibition in Europe.” Dave Mardon, Domino’s Commercial Manager is equally enthusiastic, “Graphexpo represents the most important mainstream graphic event in the US calendar and will allow us to update the market on the exciting developments that have been happening at Domino over the last twelve months.” In addition to demonstrating products on it’s own stand, Domino will be represented with the following OEMs at Graphexpo: Axode Corp – Booth No. 3377; Buhrs Americas, Inc – Booth No. 810; Research, Inc – Booth No. 3686; SITMA USA, Inc. – Booth No. 2674; Sure-Feed Engineering Inc. – Booth No. 636
