ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 4 -- Datamax Corporation, a worldwide supplier of bar code and RFID printing solutions, today announced the availability of the A-Class RFID printer. The A-Class RFID printer is the latest in a range of RFID and bar code printing solutions available from Datamax, joining the previously released I-Class RFID printer. The A-Class print engine is designed for integration into OEM label print-and-apply machines (LPAs). These LPAs are used in high-volume labeling applications such as those seen in many consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturers. The A-Class RFID printer enables end users to simultaneously encode data and print information on a smart label containing an RFID chip for compliance with EPCglobal mandates such as those issued by Wal-Mart, Target and other leading retailer organizations along with the United States Department of Defense. The A-Class RFID printer currently supports EPCglobal Class 1 tags with support of Class 0, Class 0+, and EPC UHF Gen 2, as well as ISO 18000-6 tags to be available in the future.
The A-Class RFID print engine continues the Datamax commitment to introducing leading-edge products that address a particular market need. While Datamax has already released desktop RFID printers, the A-Class RFID printer will enable RFID tags to be easily applied onto product packaging without reducing the overall throughput of shipping activities. "Our OEM LPA channel is extremely excited about this product and about being able to support demanding customers through their RFID implementation activities," says Sarah Schabacker, Business Development Manager for Datamax Corporation. "The A-Class RFID printer continues our dedication to providing "Best in Class" RFID solutions that was established when we joined EPCglobal as a Solution Provider Subscriber."
The A-Class RFID printer will be available to qualified Datamax RFID Authorized Solution Providers and OEM partners that have demonstrated the capability to support end users in implementing RFID for their demanding applications. The A-Class is a relatively new product from Datamax, having been introduced to the market earlier in 2004 and designed to replace the Datamax PE series of print engines. The A-Class is ideally suited for use in high-volume labeling applications across a wide variety of industries, including CPG, fresh and frozen food processing and supply chain logistics due to its sturdy design and high-performance computing capabilities.
