Former Donnelley VP Named President of Banta's Print Sector

MENASHA, WI - Janurary 7, 2004 -- Banta Corporation today announced the appointment of Michael Allen to President of the Banta Print Sector. He assumes senior executive leadership responsibilities for Banta’s four print divisions: the Book, Publications, Direct Marketing and Catalog groups, and will be based at Banta’s Print Sector headquarters in Hinsdale, IL. Allen was most recently Executive Vice President of Print Solutions at RR Donnelley, with responsibility for the company’s magazine, catalog/retail, book, specialized publishing, telecommunications and premedia businesses. “Mike brings us an exceptionally broad and extremely relevant base of print industry expertise,” says Banta President and Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Streeter. “His background includes a valuable mix of sales, marketing, technology and operational leadership assignments, with specific experiences in market development, acquisitions, restructurings and productivity initiatives. Mike is a dynamic and creative leader and an excellent addition to our strong print leadership team.” Allen began his career at RR Donnelley in 1982, progressing rapidly through sales and sales management positions within the company’s catalog and retail groups. In 1994 he was promoted to President, Retail Services, and two years later he became President, Information Services, a division responsible for seven non-print technology-related businesses. He was named President, Book Publishing Services in 1997; Executive Vice President, Core Commercial Print in 2000; and was promoted to his most recent position in 2001.
