Kodak Names New Leadership Team For Digital & Film Imaging Systems

December 10, 2003 -- Eastman Kodak Company today announced a new leadership team and operating model for its Digital & Film Imaging Systems (D&FIS) business, which accounts for about 70% of the company's revenue. This move will accelerate Kodak's growth strategies in consumer, professional and entertainment imaging as well as streamline operations, consistent with the digital strategy the company outlined to investors on Sept. 25 in New York City. "Kodak continues to move quickly and decisively to take advantage of the growth opportunities presented by digital imaging while streamlining our operations and reducing costs," said Bernard Masson, President of D&FIS and senior vice president, Kodak. "Our new operating model will enable us to stay ahead of changing technology while improving our focus on customer needs. Our new leadership team is aggressive and experienced in creating new businesses in the digital world. By combining our resources and leveraging our management talent, we will be better able to develop the world-class products and services that our customers have come to expect from Kodak." The new D&FIS division will consist of seven key strategic product and service groups (SPG), with the General Managers of each business reporting to Masson. Home Printing - Richard Stearns, 55, who joined Kodak after 20 years with Hewlett-Packard Co., will lead this newly created operation, where he will oversee the development of home-printing products, including thermal dye-sublimation printers and inkjet media; Consumer Output - Kent McNeley, 46, remains in charge of retail services, camera phone printing, wholesale printing; the Picture Center Online services, and the market-leading family of KODAK Picture Maker kiosks; Professional Output - John Blake, 37, will continue to lead Pro Studio solutions, Pro Lab solutions, the paper and chemical product platforms, the support and service organization and Event Imaging Solutions; Film Capture - Mary Jane Hellyar, 50, remains in charge of Kodak's market-leading professional and consumer films, single-use cameras and film cameras; Digital Capture - Gregory Westbrook, 45, is responsible for consumer and professional digital still cameras, memory and all digital camera accessories. Westbrook will collaborate with Yusuke Kojima, 58, General Manager, Worldwide Digital Camera and System Development. Kojima will oversee product development for the digital camera business; he will also serve as General Manager, Digital Imaging for the Japan region, where he will be responsible for all digital products and services in Japan; Entertainment Imaging - Eric Rodli, 47, remains in his role as President of this operation, which is the world's leading making of motion-picture film and a leading provider of digital services for the entertainment industry; Digital Imaging Services - Lisa Gansky, 45, president and co-founder of Ofoto, Inc., will lead this new operation, focusing on online, mobile imaging and software services, including Ofoto, the world's leading online photofinishing service. Additionally, Kodak has appointed new leadership in marketing, operations, finance, human resources, legal, and sales for D&FIS: Pierre Schaeffer, 40, has been named as Director of Business Strategy and Marketing Services. Previously, Schaeffer was chief marketing officer for Digital & Applied Imaging, where he launched the successful EASYSHARE brand and help established Kodak as the model for ease of use in the digital camera industry; Mark Rajkowski, 45, has been named Operations General Manager; Michael Pomeroy, 45, has been named Director of Finance; Gerald Quindlen, 44, has been named General Manager of Worldwide Consumer & Professional Sales; Michael Korizno, 47, has been named General Manager of Worldwide Digital Sales; Jean-Luc Duchemin, 48, has been named Director of Human Resources; Joyce Haag, 53, Assistant General Counsel, will provide legal support; Jeff McLeod, 52, has been named General Manager, Worldwide Professional Customer Relationships. McLeod has more than 25 years experience in the professional imaging business and is a strong advocate for professional labs and photographer customers. McLeod will also continue to serve in his current position as head of Pro Lab Sales for the U.S. All will report to Masson. Kodak announced several key executive changes related to this move. Matt Freund, President of the former Consumer Imaging products and services, will retire March 1, 2004; As previously announced, Willy Shih, formerly President of Digital & Applied Imaging products and services, has been named President, Display and Components; and Karen Smith-Pilkington, President of the former Kodak Professional products and services, will assume a new leadership role within the company to be announced at a later time.
