Quark joins NGP to optimize print workflows

Press release from the issuing company

DENVER - July 27, 2004 - Quark announced today its membership in Networked Graphic Production (NGP), an initiative of leading print industry vendors committed to working together to deliver seamlessly integrated solutions that maximize the efficiency and profitability of its joint customers. NGP partner companies work together to develop systems that reduce cycle times, minimize errors, automate production, increase productivity, and deliver better control and visibility into the entire graphic production process. NGP-approved solutions are based on JDF and other open standards that enable plug-and-play integration of print and publishing systems, and provide better control over content creation and production. "NGP is an excellent forum for developers to share knowledge and experience. It promotes interoperability between systems, and Quark's membership demonstrates our commitment to using technologies built on open standards to improve the workflows of millions of customers," said Cliff Kaplan, Quark's vice president of OEM and custom solutions. "Print industry professionals will benefit from Quark's participation in NGP because we're working with other vendors to integrate QuarkXPress more tightly with digital presses, prepress, and workflow systems." "Quark is a key player in the creation of creative content," said Filip Buyse, Chair of NGP. "The addition of Quark to the NGP Partners will accelerate the integration between the creative and print production processes. This integration will result in operating efficiencies for all customers of NGP Partners."
