August 11, 2003 -- Baltimore, MD - Vertis, a leading provider of technology-based marketing and advertising solutions, announced today the appointment of Michael Kalman as managing director for the St. Louis, Mo. facility of its Advertising Production Services business unit. Kalman previously worked for Vertis from 1991-2002, serving in various capacities including production manager, operations manager, general manager and facility manager on-site at American Media, Inc. (AMI), one of the nation’s largest media companies. In 2002 Kalman joined AMI as director of manufacturing, and now returns to Vertis Advertising Production Services as managing director. Kalman has a bachelor of arts degree in graphic design from the University of Texas at Austin.
