A.B.Dick Introduces Momentum Workflow

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, IL – A.B.Dick Company has introduced a new system designed to enhance any Digital PlateMaster (DPM) customer’s workflow. Known as A.B.Dick Momentum Workflow, it is a complete, cost-effective Print-to-Plate-to-Press solution that combines various software applications to increase DPM productivity. This involves A.B.Dick soft- ware such as ScanMaster, OpenProof, EasyTrap and IKE (Ink Key Estimator). “Momentum, or M-Workflow, describes a workflow situation most printers can identify with. It is extremely flexible and printers can have a press-ready plate available in no time,” said Brian Cleary, who handles Digital Systems Marketing for A.B.Dick. “Other work-flows require file conversion or other intervention before a plate is ready, but our customers need only to select the “Print” button. It can be a PDF, PostScript or a mixed workflow, and it can output TIFF files for other devices. The end result is more customization and greater productivity, which makes for a huge difference on any printer’s bottom line.” A.B.Dick is the market leader in small format CTP systems with over 2,000 DPM installations. DPM workflow attachments include ScanMaster, a digital scanning solution that integrates hard copy originals into digital CTP workflow. OpenProof software prints progressive, process color proofs and is flexible enough to specify a custom-separated proof for 1-4 colors. EasyTrap is a fully automatic, in-RIP trapping solution that simplifies the printing process. And IKE is unique as it provides initial ink key settings for the calibrated ink fountain, reducing waste while increasing throughput. “In the future, Momentum Workflow will continue to evolve. Customers can expect to see more M-solutions introduced to help connect the pre-press-to-press process,” said Cleary.
