Development Business Editors MINNEAPOLIS--July 10, 2007-- CGS Publishing Technologies International announces the addition of Heath Luetkens as Director of Technology. Luetkens brings 18 years of knowledge and experience in strategic planning, management and technical development and production in major printing and publishing markets.
Effective immediately, Luetkens will oversee the development of technological direction, including the planning and management of new product development, technical support roll-out, launch strategies and market research plans. Luetkens will also manage all relations with CGS Europe, Asia and Oceania pertaining to all matters of product performance and communication to Technical Services and Sales.
Luetkens comes directly from TIME Inc., where he held the role of Production Manager. Luetkens formerly led all aspects of print production and employee management, from onsite production operations to external print-to-distribution.
Prior to Production Manager, Luetkens worked as Midwest Regional Manufacturing Manager in the Time Inc. Field Operations group, managing processes and standards used at the different Time Inc. printing plant locations. As Regional Manufacturing Manager, Luetkens assisted in standardizing proofing output, as well as testing and developing the Virtual Proofing initiative.
Previous to TIME Inc., Luetkens worked for Quad Graphics, launching his career in Gravure and advancing to Corporate Color Analyst, managing plants across the nation, controlling calibration of all proofing equipment, implementing color management workflows and assisting in development analysis tools to monitor proof output. At Quad, Luetkens worked with many clients to help standardize their internal proofing processes to SWOP and TR001.
While at Quad Graphics and Time Inc., Luetkens participated in many Standards committees, including IDEAlliance, SWOP and CGATS. Luetkens held the position of CGATS Chair in 2005 and 2006 to help develop many of the industry standards used today.
"I am thrilled to see Heath join the CGS team," said David Palmieri, CGS East Coast Regional Manager. "I have had the privilege of developing a great working relationship with Heath as a valued customer when he was with Quad Graphics and Time Inc. Heath was instrumental in guiding development of our virtual proofing technology, which has now evolved into our Hybrid Proofing solution. He was extremely valuable in communicating what he required as a customer in the Graphic Arts market and pushed CGS to raise the bar to develop our solutions further. Heath will be an enormous asset to the future development of CGS."
