Merrick Printing Buys New Rapida 105 41 From KBA

Williston, Vermont --April 10, 2003-- KBA North America has announced that The Merrick Printing Company, Inc., a general commercial sheetfed printer based in Louisville, Ky., has purchased a new Rapida 105 41" six-color sheetfed press with tower coater and perfecting capabilities. The new press was installed in March 2003. The new Rapida 105 41" features a perfector after the second unit, allowing either two-over-four printing or straight six-color printing. It also features a fully-automated makeready system, along with a tower coater, and eight-foot extended delivery. “We have been doing business with KBA for more than 30 years and they’ve always supported us,” says David Merrick, president of The Merrick Printing Company, Inc. “We want to stay at the top quality level. After seeing the demo at KBA’s offices in Vermont, this new press is an enhanced version of our existing KBA presses offering faster speed, more capabilities, faster makeready, and improved efficiencies. This will be our first multicolor press with perfecting as well as our first press with a tower coater.” Established in 1964, The Merrick Printing Company, Inc. serves a variety of regional clients as well as several national clients. These include Cummins Inc., Yum! Brands, Electronic Arts, and Little Brownie Bakers. The 115-employee firm has two divisions: its core conventional commercial print division and a digital print division.
